I opened the door for Chandra and the girls the next day and hugged all of them, happy to see them. It was nice that somebody was talking to me since August still wasn't.

"Hi auntie Kay," The girls said, as I pecked their cheeks.

"Hi, babies. How yall doing?" I asked, stepping aside for them to come in.

"We good. But Uncle Aug promised that we could go swimming in his pool. So we brought our swimming stuff," Kayden explained, showing me her little pink Nike gym bag.

"Alright, well follow me," I said, walking toward the kitchen to bring them through the backyard door. Once they saw the pool, they stripped down to their bathing suit instantly and jumped inside. I laughed a little watching them swim around excitedly.

"Ever since August promised them that they could swim, they been buggin the hell outta me bout this damn pool," Chandra said, taking a seat at a table. I sat right next to her. "Where is August by the way?"

"The studio," I mumbled, still feeling salty toward him still. She looked over at me, catching on.

"Alright what's wrong with yall now?" She asked. I got us some lemonade and then explained what happened yesterday. By the time I was finished the story, she was looking at me like I was in the wrong.

"What?" I asked, as she looked at me like I was crazy.

"Kay, you know how August is. Why you didn't just leave when that shit happened?"

"Because he was overreacting. And ion like how he was treating me like a child. Forcing me out the video shoot and embarrassing me."

She shook her head, laughing. "Yall were meant for each other. Always arguing about something."

"And can you believe he had the nerve to invite Lola up in here the day of the shoot too?" I scoffed, folding my arms.

"Lola?" She asked, wide eyed. I nodded.

"Yeah that bitch. Why you say it like that?"

"It's really none of my business, Kay," She shrugged. I waved my hand back and forth.

"Oh no no, you brought it up. Tell me," I demanded, interested now.

"Kay ion wanna-"

"Please?" I begged, pouting after seeing that she was gonna refuse again.

"Fine," She sighed. "Lola was like his...what you call it? Uh, friends with benefits at one point of time and she wanted to make it official but he didn't and so she started acting a little crazy. She would be coming to his house in the middle of the night crying, coming to my house begging me to talk him into making her his girl, and all types of crazy shit. Until one day he just decided to keep her believing that they'd have something eventually to keep her calm. And that's how it's been since."

I shook my head, trying to remain under control but the news I just received wasn't helping. "Are you fuc-"

"Aye, who told y'all y'all could swim in my pool?" August asked, walking through the backdoor. "Wassup, Cha?"

"Hey, Aug," She said, sipping her lemonade dramatically. He didn't bother saying anything to me and that pushed a little over the edge. I got up and stormed in the house and walked straight to the bedroom, slamming the door.

August POV

Chandra shook her head at me and I took a seat where Kay was sitting.

"What?" I asked. "Why you looking at me like that."

"August, you need to get ya shit together," She said, still shaking her head. "You acting like a baby."

"Me?" I sucked my teeth. "And how is that, Cha? She probably told you some shit to make it seem like I am the bad guy, didn't she? And you believed her, didn't you?"
