Chapter 2

Since Louise and Vincent Fellows death, life in the Fellows household was uneventful. Lillian Brown lived in her late parents' large, detached house with her nearest neighbours being an elderly couple, the abounded row of houses opposite hers and the dead in the local cemetery.

Lillian had only one sibling, Felix Fellows, a cocky twenty five year old that practised law. Felix was good at what he did so money was never a problem even after their parents deaths. Since Lillian and Felix had a close relationship and her parents had no known relatives she could stay with, child services allowed Lillian to be placed in her brothers care instead of a foster home, which she was grateful for.

Although Lillian was very intelligent, she felt learning and the whole idea of socializing that came with schools just wasn't her thing. She gave up entirely after the incidence with Sarah. Lillian still smiled a little on the inside when she thinks back to breaking her nose. Felix dealt with all the legal issues that came with quitting school at such a young age since he knew how stubborn his sister could be and he also knew there was no chance of her ever going back.

Although Lillian's life had sort of begun to develop a routine with her elder brother going to his many mysterious jobs that he refused to tell her about and her doing whatever she felt like that day, she still felt as if there was something missing. The only thing is that she didn't know what that something actually was. When she said that she didn't mean she felt as if she was missing out on all the other things teenagers her age did, in all honestly she rather do anything but those crappy activities. She wasn't trying to find love or companionship or anything of the sort, she really rather be alone. Heck, even her brother had had more boyfriends in the past then she had. She didn't need people. She did have a few close friends she kept in contact with like her best friend Sharon and Mary-Ann but she didn't see them as often anymore since they was off living their lives, not that Lillian would think bitterly about them because of that.

Lillian still kept up with a few past times like going to a gym regularly, fencing, ballet, along with boxing and self-defence. She just wasn't interested in socializing very often unless it was mandatory or she was drunk, which she was quite often. Most people would frown upon how Lillian lived her life since she was hardly seventeen but she really didn't care about what people thought.

It was two days after her strange meeting with the man in the graveyard and life was going about a normal. Lillian's brother was working on a very urgent case so he would be working late for the next few nights. After arriving home from work Felix Fellows walked into the kitchen. Felix was a handsome man with light hair that flattered his sharp features. He was tall and thin but graceful, a trait that him and his sister seemed to have inherited from their parents. His hazel eyes were set under heavy brows, and you could tell he thought exceeding highly of himself just by the way he dressed and stood.

Once inside the kitchen, Felix stooped down on his hands and knees to crawl behind the couch and piles of cushions to where his sister was curled up with a book perched on her knees, hitting his styled hair as he did so. Lillian looked up at her brothers sharp features and sighed, "Felix, you're in my den. Why on earth are you in my den? I'm not sure if you've noticed but my den is mine."

Felix looked at his sister and wondered how he turned out so much saner then she did. "Lillian, I believe the question we should really be asking here is why a seventeen year old young lady has a den made of pillows behind a living room couch."

"But darling brother, how else am I meant to get away from seeing your face on one of the few days a week your home?" Lillian asked smiling sweetly.

"Well sis, you don't have to hide out for very long, I'm going to be gone for the next few days."

"May I ask why or am I supposed to guess? You know I hate guessing."
