Stay Chained to Me

Chapter 4

As soon as he woke up, Kurapika felt the weight of his eyelids keeping his eyes shut.
He forced them open and started to feel more pain, in his chest, and in his shins.
He flinched as he slowly sat up and looked to his left.

It was a spacious room, elegantly decorated. The walls were painted a classic beige, there were thick curtains the color of wine framing the windows, a crystal chandelier the size of a small table hanging from the ceiling, and a veranda to the left of the queen-sized bed Kurapika was currently sleeping on.

To a normal person this place would have been beautiful, but to someone like Kurapika who works in the underground mafia, he is used to displays of wealth, used to seeing people spend money like paper.

"Good, you're awake, I was going to throw you into a wall again if you were asleep for any longer" Chrollo remarked as he stood up from a chair to Kurapika's right.
Chrollo continued walking up to the bed as Kurapika tried to activate his Chains.
"You've been asleep for days, do you really think I wouldn't try to take away your Nen?"

Kurapika was seething.

"What do you want from me?" Kurapika growled out lowly as he looked Chrollo straight in the eye. Desperately trying to control his rage to stay calm in this situation.

  "I don't ask if I want something Kurapika, I take it" Chrollo mocked, almost scolding; as he tasted the way the name sounded and moved in his tongue. He looked down at Kurapika's bare shoulders and smiled.

Confused, Kurapika looked down at himself, and gasped. There, on his right shoulder, was a spider tattoo, no number, just the spider.

His eyes went wide, and were set ablaze with anger, guilt, and shame. He immediately started to claw at it, trying to rip it off his skin, only to notice that his hands were chained to the wall.

'He must have been too used to the sensation of chains around his hands to notice that he was trapped by them'
Chrollo thought as he watched Kurapika struggle with the chains, and for the first time, losing his control.
