Quickly gathering her things, Skylar headed out to Kaitlyn's car, not surprised to see her already there.
"Do you want to go and get something to eat really quick, go to my house and get ready for your study date?" Kaitlyn teased, although her voice was on edge. She still was not happy about the whole thing.
"Sounds good to me!" Sky replied cheerfully, pretending as if she hadn't heard disappointed tone in Kaitlyn's voice. Although she knew that her friend was trying to look out for her, it was beginning to get on her nerves.
They both climbed into the car and Kaitlyn drove them to the nearest Subway that they could find. It was a fairly healthy place to eat, so they usually stopped there for a quick bite. The only problem was that it was always packed with high school kids at lunch and also right after school.
Slipping through the door, the girls waited in line, not saying much aside from asking each other how their days went. The tension was another thing getting on Sky's nerves. She didn't feel as if she could talk to Kaitlyn anymore. Especially not about Alex
It didn't take long for them to get through the line, and soon they had their food and were heading back out to Kaitlyn's car. Immediately they drove towards Kaitlyn's house and after getting inside and sitting on the floor in her room, Skylar was starving.
Digging into their food right away, Kaitlyn began to stare at Sky, almost as if she was trying to figure out what she was thinking.
"What's up?" Skylar asked calmly, sipping at her iced tea. Kaitlyn just let out a sigh.
"Why were you with Alex last night?" She asked.
"Because I saw him and wanted to hang out with him?" Skylar responded, raising an eyebrow at her.
"Why aren't you listening to Lucas and I? He's bad. Stay away from him!"
"He. Is. Not. Bad! There is more to him than you know. So shut up."
"Excuse me? Did you just tell me to shut up? Your best friend, who gave you clothes and took you home last night when Alex couldn't even bother?!"
"You don't understand..."
"No I do! You are in love with him! Well, when your heart gets broken, don't bother coming to me for help." Kaitlyn yelled, their food long forgotten. Skylar slapped her and stormed out, taking the bag with her that held her purse. If Kaitlyn wasn't going to listen, then Skylar wouldn't bother wasting her words.
Pulling her phone out of the bag she had borrowed from Kaitlyn, she tugged out her phone and called Alex, walking down the street a little bit.
"Hello?" Alex asked and Skylar almost sighed in relief that he had picked up.
"Can you come and get me? Um... my ride isn't going to be able to take me to your house and I am no where near my house so I can't drive with my car." She told him, her voice wavering when she mentioned the lack of her ride.
It was obvious that he heard the waver.
"I'll be there soon Princess."
