That was this, this was that. My life had a routine that would never change. Well, that’s what I thought until we moved to California.

-----

“You’re seriously moving to California!?” My best friend screamed in my ear.

“Yeah… You don’t have to scream you know.” I said while giving her a pointed look.

She smiled. “Whatever. Wait until he-“ She looked at me with her eyes wide.

“What? He what?” I said questionably.

“Ha.. ha.. ha.. Nevermind. So, uh, you know, California-“ She babbled making huge hand gestures.

I glared at her. “You can’t lie to me Cassy.”

“O-oh hey! Look! It’s Mr. Garsely! I have to talk to him about, uh, my homework! Yeah! My homework! See you later!” She said while waving me bye.

I rolled my eyes. Whatever. I said to myself.

-----

“Allison! Come down and get your luggage! The limo is here!” my mom yelled from the living room.

“Coming!” I yelled back. I grabbed my 2 luggages and headed out of my room. Bye room.. I said to myself.

-----

Woah. This is bigger than my old house.. I thought.

“Allison. Stop staring at the house and design your room.” My father sternly said.

“Okay. Which room is mine?” I said while brushing my auburn hair away from my eyes.

My father smiled. His sharp blue eyes that I shared crinkled up into, what I call, smiley eyes. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. He barely ever smiled. “You get the whole third floor to yourself.”

I felt myself smile. I hugged my dad while thanking him. “I’m gonna decorate all the rooms!” I squealed in excitement. “I’m going to look at the 3rd floor! Thanks!” I was jittering with excitement while I ran into the house.

“Have fun.” I heard my dad say.

When I ran up the stairs, I ran into a wall. Wait, what? I looked up. O-oh my goodness.

He chuckled. “You okay?” He said in a dark husky voice.

I was too stunned to talk. I nodded instead. “I have to go..” I said then ran up the stairs. All the excitement from earlier vanished within me in seconds. Now, adrenaline was running through my body. God, did you see those deep brown eyes? And the way his hair was ruffled messily but it was so sexy. Allison! What are you talking about? It’s not even the first day here. I was right. Good, now back to business.

I looked around the third floor and GOODNESS, was it massive! I counted about 4 bedrooms, 1 game room, 4 bathrooms and a lounge thing with a bar? I picked one of the bigger bedrooms and started to plan away.

-----

“Your eyes were so bright. And I remember your eyes were so bright. And I remember your eyes were so bright. When I first met you, how in love were we that night. And now I'm kissing your tears goodnight. And I can't take it, you're even perfect when you cry. Beautiful goodbye, bye, bye. It's dripping from your eyes, your beautiful goodbye. It's dripping from your eyes, yeah.”

The musical sound filled my room up, cutting the silence. I woke up and grabbed my phone to check for any texts or messages. ‘One text from GUESSWHO.  You cutie. Look at how you sleep.’ There was a picture from the text and it was me sleeping on my bed last night. Before I had any time to think about it, my mother knocked on my door.

“Get up Allison! It’s your first day of school! I got the perfect outfit for you!” My mom said. She was a shopaholic and she liked to dress like a teenager. If I remembered correctly, some of the guys in my school tried to hit on her. Awkward.

“Yes, yes. Give me 10 minutes.” I got up from my bed and unlocked my bedroom door. While heading towards the bathroom, I looked out at my view of the ocean. It was magnificent.

I straightened my hair and applied minimal makeup. I did everything else too. When I came out of my bathroom, my mother was holding a pair of dark short shorts and a chevron striped tank with a pair of black flip flops. She giggled and said “Breakfast will be ready shortly!” and she left.

I usually pick my own clothes but on the first day of school, my mother always picked my outfit.

I quickly put on my clothes and checked myself out in the mirror. Not bad, not bad. I thought to myself.

-----

I start to walk towards the living room, and I go over to the window. I take a peek, and I see the luscious green grass rippling underneath the morning sun. I hear pans clanking together and bacon sizzling, all coming from the kitchen.

“Breakfast's ready!” my mom hollers.

I walk in the kitchen and open a cupboard. I get a small plate and a fork, and then I sit down on one of the chairs at the table. I take 2 bacon strips, one egg, and 4 slices of toast.

I have a very high metabolism that I got from my mom’s side. So I can basically eat whatever I want.  I take some strawberry jam to go with the toast. I ate all my food, and put the plate in the sink. I grabbed my bag, and headed for the door.

“Bye mom! Love you!” I shout.

“Bye sweetie! Love you too!” she says, and I close the door behind me and leave for school.

Time to get to Weselle Brook Secondary School. Where I'll be a 10th grader coming in the middle of the term. Hopefully, I'll make friends. Actual friends.
