Hello, my name is Anna Marie Mendes. I live in Toronto, Canada, but I was actually born in Miami, Florida. I have brown hair and brown eyes. I'm 1/4 Cuban and 1/4 Mexican on my mom's side, as well as 1/4 British and 1/4 Portuguese on my dad's side. So I've got a little bit of everything in my blood!
Funny I should say "in my blood", because guess what else? My dad is Shawn Mendes! Now you might be thinking, "Oh my gosh, that's so cool!" Not so fast. Don't get me wrong; I love my father to death. I'm a daddy's girl and I spend a lot of time with him everyday. Alas, being the daughter of a popular singer isn't all fun and games. They say that every medal has its reverse, and that couldn't be truer in my case.
First of all, it's hard to get a moment of stinking privacy. My little brother Jonah and I often have to deal with those stupid paparazzis. Plus, everything that has to do with me seems to be in the tabloids. Even my family problems become public! As if that weren't bad enough, lots of kids from school only want to be my friend because my parents are famous. That's right, I don't just have a famous father; my mother, Camila Cabello, is also a famous pop singer, but you knew that already.
However, I do have real friends—friends who want to be friends with me for ME, not my parents—especially this particular group of school friends I like to hang out with. There are five of us in the group. There's me of course, as well as two female friends named Leah and Jasmine, and two male friends named Michael and Austin. We're super close, and we're never seen apart.
Really, when you get to know me, you'll realize that I'm just your average ten-year-old girl. I love sports, listening to music, and going out with friends. I like eating pizza, and I find my younger brother annoying.
