Everyone wants to be Kendal Brooks. Some describe her as a Barbie Doll come to life. Others insist she is so smart that she'd make Einstein look naive. But everyone agrees on this: she is literally as close to perfect as anyone gets.
On the outside.
Kendal wasn't born blond and beautiful. There may have been a bottle of hair die, a fake tan or two along the way. Until age sixteen, Kendal was content being the first to solve each algebra equation in her class but the last one sitting on the bleachers at a school dance. A teacher's pet and nothing else. People only really talked to her when they needed homework cheats and only looked at her when they didn't know the answer on a test.
That is, until age 16.
It was then that Kendal got her hands on a Vogue, a hair straightener, and a little blush. That got the ball rolling. But she has a couple of dirty little secrets that twenty layers of concealer can't hide. And what if falling for the wrong person sends her wheeling back into her old life?
All good things must come to and end. Sooner or later.
