Too Late

Its just too late

Looks like destiny’s decided by fate

Where nothing ever goes by chance

Life is just a crazy dance

We live by blood, sweat and tears

And sacrifices drowned in beers

Its the alcoholics and depression reign

No one left is even slightly sane

And all we care about is money

And living in a world that’s sunny

And not darkened by the clouds of day

Or monochrome, and shades of grey.

We’re all broken, you and i

And yet our empty hearts still try to fly

Played and toyed with by the world

And then, like broken toys are hurled

Down the drain after we're done

And we discriminate and shun

The ones we deem as “not enough”

Daring each other to call the bluff

And break through the wall of lies

To face the truth and cut all ties

Of love and happiness, of hope

All pushed down the drain like suds of soap

This world is full of mania

Of hate and death and paranoia

Intoxicated by the deception

Whispers, and cunning manipulation

We spend life digging our own grave

Wishing for redemption for all the hurt we gave

We look for escape in anything

Cuts and liquor, dreams of being king

Anorexia, self-harm and overdose

Crying all night for someone close

Who can save us from each other?

And society’s judging, ignoble smother

Of things that are not good cause they’re not the same

We brand these people with the mark of shame

For being who they really are inside

And so our world is dyed

In black and red and shades of grey

Pushing people away but wanting them to stay

We keeping going, screaming, yelling our hearts out

Until we reach our very last shout

And so we end life wanting more

But we have nothing forevermore.
