I yawn as I enter the band room. it was definitely too early to be in Band, much less playing.

Kailey giggles her head off, laughing at the fact that I was yawning.

"Oh, hush, Mrs. I'm freezing." I pick at her, entering the storage room. I trot to my cubby. I grab my flute, Kailey grabs her trumpet, and Anthony walks into the storage room.

"Hayli-poo." He grins at me.

"Ashley." I laugh. One day last year, Anthony had worn a tutu to school for red-ribbon week, and we called him Ashley. He picks on us, and we pick on him.

Kailey and Anthony had dated in seventh grade, and are still good friends.

I grab my binder full of music and walk to our part of the band room setup, and sit in a chair. My ex, Andrew, Anthony and Jonathon's friend walks in, ignoring Anthony.

"He's pissed at me, because I had a part in helping ︎Jonathon." Anthony laughed. Andrew was always protective, though it lasted a few weeks, and he never spoke to me.

"Oh well." I mumble.

"He's jealous."

All morning, ︎Jonathon and I played our music, him on Saxophone and me on Flute, and every once in a while, he'd tap my foot and laugh.
