I could hear the sound of my two little brothers giggling in the basement and the annoying barking of the dog who lived in the house next to us. I could see my mother and father talking to each other in the kitchen enjoying themselves while my father attempted to cook a meal. The air outside was sweet and smelled of rain that had fallen hours ago. While the sky was dark, the moon was full and glowing, and the stars filled the night with their warm light.
It was all normal and then it wasn't.
I couldn't hear my little brothers laughing and the irritating dog next store, or see my parents talking.
All I saw was red.
