"Dad can't I just wait in the car? I really don't feel like doing this" You whined from the front seat, willing to unbuckle your seatbelt.
"You have known about this for weeks." Your father argued.
"That doesn't mean I'm okay with it" You huffed and faced the window, staring at the restaurant door.
You could tell it had to be at least a four star restaurant judging by the way the outside appearance was.
Your dad drove the car in the valet parking line and you two continued to argue until someone came to take the vehicle.
"Isn't this place too fancy for us?" You arched an eyebrow.
"Nonsense" He chuckled. "We always eat burgers so I thought this place would be a nice change"
"Besides, today is a special day so I placed a reservation here a month in advance" He added and you couldn't help but notice his smile.
Once the valet attendant grabbed the car keys from your dad, you two began to walk towards the front door of the restaurant.
You had your arms crossed over your white sundress and your dad noticed your gloomy frown.
"Y/N, you'll love her don't worry" He assured and led the way inside.
You were finally going to meet the woman that your father had been seeing for almost a year now.
She had tried to meet you numerous times before but you weren't sure if you were ready to meet the woman who had taken your dad away from you during the weekends.
During the week, you barely saw your dad due to his work schedule.
Your mother had been gone since you were just a kid and your dad had raised you ever since.
Before this other woman came into the picture, the weekends were made for you and your dad to watch sports together and eat all the junk food you wanted.
You wouldn't consider yourself a tom-boy but you wouldn't consider yourself a girly girl either.
You were just that happy medium.
You could feel your lips turn numb as you continued to bite down on them out of nervousness.
You weren't sure what to expect.
Your dad had only said positive things about her but you wanted to see for yourself.
The hostess led you and your dad to the table he reserved.
It was located towards the back of the restaurant. You could barely see anything, the whole place was dimly lit throughout with only candles shining on the tables.
You sat next to your dad on one side of the square table and nervously awaited for the woman's arrival.
"Hello" A waiter came to your table and introduced himself. He took your drink orders and left within a few seconds.
It felt like you were waiting for an eternity for this mysterious woman.
"How rude. You made a reservation and she's late" You scoffed as the waiter came back with your drinks.
Your dad checked his watch and glanced at you. "Y/N, it's only been three minutes since we have been here"
"Three minutes too long" You said before taking a long sip of your peach tea.
Just as you spoke, your dad stood up with a huge grin on his face.
"You came" He greeted the woman and gave her a welcoming hug.
