Chapter One: Strawberry Beginings

Talos woke up in the morning with a sigh, the sun's beams shone upon him in an almost brutal fashion in order to do so as he stretched and yawned as he usually did. He got up from his bed and quickly got dressed into his school uniform, walking towards the corner of his room to pick up a red, metal casing and a card next to it. " Ichigo, do you have any luck with your memory? " The young man asked, raising an eyebrow.

When the cards fell from the sky, many people were met with cards that did not speak or have personalities. However, as time passed, the cards began to develop and become more human. " I'm still shooting blanks at the moment...I can't seem to remember anything from my world..." The orange haired male stated, letting out a sigh as he placed his sword down on the ground in a holographic form.

" Maybe a battle will help reinvigorate yourself, you've been looking pretty down ever since you lost your memories..." Talos stated, Ichigo's hologram fading as he was placed into the metal container along with several other cards.

The school day was never a highlight for anyone really, it was something that came and went in a breeze. To students, education was more of a chore than something to be engaged in as they slogged through their work on a daily basis. The true fun came with using the mysterious cards to battle for their entertainment, it seemed to be a function that they all possessed. Talos began to walk to the courtyard in order to search out some other duelists when he saw a hooded figure in the hallway. " You...yes, you...I see horrible things in your future...from the way you walk to the hairs on your uniform, to he way you hold your bag....I can already foresee that you will grow to do terrible things, Talos..." The hooded figure stated, chuckling as he got up, beginning to walk over to the empty gymnasium.

Talos raised an eyebrow as he followed the strange student, opening the gymnasium's doors as he already stood at one side of the area. " What kind of nonsense is this, if you wanted to fight me you should have just been more upfront about it..." He stated, watching the robed figure pulling out a card from his hand as he threw it to the ground.

" Gate Card Open! Las Noches! " The hooded student shouted, raising his hand into the air as the gym began to change into a sandy pit with buildings in the distance.

" I summon Battikaroa! " He exclaimed, throwing down another card onto the field, in which a sandy figure emerged, his expression lifeless and cold.

Hollow Battikaroa: 700 ATK

Talos grunted as he threw down Ichigo to the field, to which he was completely trumped in size by the large creature. The Substitute Soul Reaper stood proudly, resting his blade upon his shoulder.

Soul Reaper Ichigo Kurosaki: 600 ATK

Talos watched as three cards materialized onto his hand. He pulled a card out and smiled lightly. " I activate an ability! Spiritual Pressure! " He shouted, as the entire gym began to shake along with the rest of the school grounds.

Hollow Battikaroa reduced to 500 ATK

Soul Reaper Ichigo increased to 1200 ATK

" Spiritual Pressure allows me to double the ATK of my Soul Reaper while lowering the ATK of my opponent by 200...Ichigo, attack! " Talos exclaimed, extending his hand as the Soul Reaper charged towards the large Hollow with his sword.

The hooded student shook his finger, albeit in a panic as he let out a sigh. " Fate cannot be so easily changed, Talos...you're going to realize that when I hit you with this one! " He exclaimed, as he held all three ability cards in his hand.

" I activate my first ability! Regeneration! This card allows me to restore my Bakugan to their base ATK " The hooded figure exclaimed, as Battikaroa began to grow larger in size from the sand around him.

Hollow Battikaroa increased to 700 ATK

" Next, I activate Unhinged Jaw, which decreases the ATK of my opponents by 300..." The hooded figure stated, as his second ability card glowed, Battikaroa's jaw extended greatly and proceeded to bite down upon Ichigo.

Soul Reaper Ichigo Kurosaki reduced to 900 ATK

" I activate my final and greatest ability, Cero! " The hooded figure exclaimed, as Battikaroa's body lit up with Spiritual Pressure, his mouth glowing a crimson hue as a beam came crashing down upon Ichigo violently.

Hollow Battikaroa increased to 1000 ATK

" I activate an ability! Protective Charm! " Talos shouted, as a protective barrier formed around Ichigo as the attack came crashing down upon him.

A large set of dust surrounded the two warriors, Ichigo panting in exhaustion as he evaded the Cero. " This ability allows me to negate an attack and reduce my opponent back to their base level..." Talos stated, as Ichigo dashed into the air, charging towards the massive Hollow with his Zanpakuto.

Hollow Battikaroa reduced to 700 ATK

With one fell slash, the Hollow was split in half, and would return to the hooded figure in card form. The student removed his hood as the battle was forcefully ended. " I cannot defeat you at your current strength, Talos. But mark my words, you will be defeated by me...for the sake of the future, I will protect it! " He exclaimed, walking away soon after.

Talos ran towards the student to stop him, however, he was already gone mysteriously as he faded into a corner. He stopped in his tracks as he simply looked around the area, letting out a sigh of disappointment. " Ichigo, did that manage to awaken any of your memories? " He asked, as the orange haired male appeared as a hologram, shaking his head.

" A shame...we'll have to get stronger if we want to defeat that stranger though...I don't know what he's on about but he has a deadly arsenal..." The duelist stated, not feeling confident he would have won if the battle hadn't ended forcefully.

" A sound plan...we should get some rest for now though...I'm sure we're both exhausted..." Ichigo sighed, fading back into his card form as the student left the school area, trekking on over to his house...
