43. Ain't no mountain high enough (fluff)

They're basically music nerds in this story! So have this fluffy one-shot! Also keep in mind it's a small hall!

Lance and Keith have been planning a surprise, with the help of Matt, for their wedding. They're huge music nerds and love to sing. They had told everyone they wouldn't be singing at their wedding at any point. They lied and said they wanted to keep it a traditional wedding, and of course it was a lie. Everyone in their friend group was in musical theater at one point of their lives; Keith was lead in three musicals, Lance was lead in two musicals and co-starred in two musicals along side Keith, Pidge was a background character in all the musicals her friends were apart of, Hunk was in one musical as a background character but then turned to stage hand, Shiro co-starred multiple musicals, Matt is mostly stage hand but he was a background character at one point, and Allura also starred in multiple musicals along side Keith and Lance. They all met during the first year of Keith and Lance's first year in middle school, they've been inseparable since.

Keith and Lance currently are getting up to meet Matt in the back room to put mics on, everyone is currently chatting with each other waiting for food to be ready while listening to music. Lance smiled when he saw everyone dancing in their seats. "You guys over here!" Matt whisper shouts, the two grin at each other and make their way over to Matt. "We can't be too long, they'll probably think you guys are fucking." Matt get smacked by Keith, "Ow!" Matt rubs his arm trying to make it feel better. "It's true! Anyways, I need to get these on you." Matt forces Lance to turn around and take off his jacket, he starts putting the mic in place and he sets the mic around his ear. Lance let's him do his thing and Keith walks in front of him with a smile. "I love you." Keith pecks his lip and Lance kisses back, "Hey! You have all the time in the world to do that! Keep still!" Matt pesters and they both chuckle, "Alright done! Keith your turn." Keith moves towards him and does his work, then Lance's phone buzzes. 

Pidge: Where'd you go? Shiro said food is going to be ready in five minutes! 

Lance chuckles and shows Keith, "Maybe we should use the excuse we couldn't keep away from each other." Keith goes pink but nods slowly, Matt chuckles and Lance replies. 

Lance: Keith and I had to... talk

Pidge: You guys are making out aren't you? 

Lance: Maybe... Just text me when food shows up! 

"You're good to go! Now one of you go on the other end of the hall through the kitchen!" Lance turns to Keith, he nods and turns to Matt, "I will." Matt nods and looks at them both, "After the song after this song is your guy's song, be ready!" Keith nods, "Turn the mic on when you know the song is going to end, the song is footloose after this song." Matt pushes Keith to the secret passage to get  to the kitchen. Lance chuckles and Matt heads out, "I'll convince everyone not to come back here." Lance nods and he starts practicing their choreography in his head while waiting for the songs to be over. 

Keith is nervously leaning against the counter where it's not busy as everyone is preparing dinner. He's so happy right now, he married the love of his life, how can he not be happy? Keith looks through the crack of the door to see everyone having a good time. He's happy a lot of people accepted their invitation. He sees multiple people singing along to footloose, he smiles when he sees the head table, all of his friends that are apart of the bridal party dancing in their seats and singing along with all their heart. He's happy he has a family now and forever. 

The song begins to end and the two turn their mics on, Matt smiles in his seat while watching his friends and family having a good time. The beginning of the song starts and that's when everyone goes quiet, knowing this is Lance and Keith's song. Everyone sees they're not in their seats and everyone suddenly hears Keith's voice. 

"Listen, baby." Keith steps out and smiles while singing,  "Ain't no mountain high enough. Ain't no valley low. Ain't no river wide enough, baby." Keith moves to the center of the hall where there's a dance floor." If you need me, call me." Lance steps out with a smile while scanning the crowd, the stops upon seeing Keith grooving to the music. He makes his way there as planned, "No matter where you are. No matter how far (Don't worry, baby)." Lance makes it there while grooving and begins to groove with his husband. "Just call my name. I'll be there in a hurry. You don't have to worry. Cause baby there."

Everyone sits there in shock, especially their friends except for Matt and the photographer. Everyone begins to dance in their seats. Lance and Keith then begin to sing and do their choreography together, "Ain't no mountain high enough. Ain't no valley low enough. Ain't no river wide enough. To keep me from getting to you, babe." They smile at each other and bring themselves into their arms while swaying. Keith sings to Lance, not letting eye contact break, "Remember the day. I set you free. I told you you could always count on me, darling." Everyone watches the newlyweds with awe and tears. "From that day on, I made a vow. I'll be there when you want me. Someway, somehow. Oh baby there." Keith and Lance then break apart and do their choreography start clapping their hands in hopes that their families and friends clap their hands too, and they do causing the both to smile brightly. 

"Ain't no mountain high enough. Ain't no valley low enough. Ain't no river wide enough. To keep me from getting to you, babe." Lance and Keith then turn back to each other while doing a their choreo as scheduled. Keith sings passionately, "Oh no, darling." Lance smiles when he sings his part, "No wind, no rain. Nor winter storm. Can't stop me, baby." Lance begin to dance against his husband who smiles and wraps his arms around his husband's waist. Keith then brings Lance's hands into his and they begin to dance together beautifully, "No, no baby." Lance smiles and gives Keith the most passionate look while singing, "Cause you are my goal." Lance has tears going down his cheeks at this point, and so does Keith. 

"If you're ever in trouble." The two break apart and groove while looking at their families with a smile and they then notice a slideshow playing as well of them when they were dating, "I'll be there on the double. Just send for me." Keith finishes singing his part and goes back and does their choreography before they get to overwhelmed.

"Oh, baby!" Keith points to Lance and Lance grooves his way over to his husband while singing, "My love is alive. Way down in my heart. Although we are miles apart." Keith smiles while bringing Lance into swaying again, the two smile with tears going down their cheeks, "If you ever need a helping hand. I'll be there on the double. Just as fast as I can." Lance leans into Keith's shoulder as they dance together, Keith smiles and suddenly before they both singing the whole crowd starts singing. "Don't you know that there... Ain't no mountain high enough. Ain't no valley low enough. Ain't no river wide enough." The two stand there while crying happy tears then they sing, "To keep me from getting to you, baby." Then they pull into a very passionate kiss while everyone sings the rest of the song. "Ain't no mountain high enough. Ain't no valley low enough. Ain't no river wide enough." The two happily dance and holding each other while humming together. 

No everyone now knows why these two got together in the first, after seeing Lance and Keith sing so passionately together. Their voices suited each other, it was meant to be. They were soulmates. 

Lance was singing this song randomly during a study session in the music room, that's when he drew in everyone into the music. Keith was brave and decided to sing along with Lance, scaring him but they sang together. That's when Lance decided Keith wasn't too bad after all. This song really brought them together forever...
