As the fearsome five Mobians attacked they found themselves at a bloody stalemate with their attackers. Scourge, Metal Sonic, and Mecha Knuckles put up the biggest fight they have ever seen. Sonic battled Scourge; both had looks of determination and rage in their eyes except Scourge's was mixed with more fury than Sonic's. "You took everything from me, Sonic", Scourge growled as he slugged Sonic in the chest. "What the heck did I ever do to you?", Sonic yelled as he bounced back and spin dashed past Scourge, "Every fight involved you starting it. And that kingship you had in your world, you stole". "SHUT UP", Scourge yelled. Shadow and Blaze attacked Mecha Knuckles due to his powerful metal hands which although not as strong as the normal Knuckles' fists, packed a strong punch. "I'LL CRUSH YOU!!!", Mecha Knuckles yelled. "You're no match for me", Blaze yelled as fire erupted from her body and shot at the robot. While it did slight damage, the robot was barely showing injury from her attack. Meanwhile, Sally and Amy were holding ground against Metal Sonic who could barely land a blow on Sally or Amy who blocked his attacks with her hammer. "I'm not like before when I was a kid", Amy smirked as she held Metal back with the brunt of her hammer, "I'm a big girl now". "Yeah I bet you are", Sally grumbled as she kicked Metal in the head with her foot. "What does that mean?", Amy said with suspicion. "You know what I mean", Sally yelled as she threw Metal off her and Amy struck him with her hammer again. "We really need Tails and Knuckles in this fight", Sonic groaned as Scourge had Sonic in a strangle hold. "Gah", Sally finally snapped, "Sonic why the heck did you do that?!" "What?", Sonic asked while knocking Scourge back. "Why do you care? You guys broke up years ago", Amy growled as she knocked Metal Sonic away as he tried hitting Sally from behind. "Yeah but I can't believe you guys would hook up", Sally yelled with a slight tear in her eye. Suddenly everyone even Scourge and the robots stopped fighting and stared at Sonic and Amy. Scourge then broke into a crackling laughter, "You finally hooked up with that crazy kid?" "Mind your own business, Green", Sonic growled, "And she's not crazy or a kid". Scourge laughed again as did Metal Sonic. "Actually, this changes things", Scourge chuckled then turned to Metal Sonic and Mecha Knuckles who nodded. "Target change in progress", both robots said. "What are you-?", Sonic asked but then realized the horrifying meaning behind his words. "You took everything from me", Scourge grinned at Sonic then turned to Amy, "So I'll take everything from you". "New target found", Metal Sonic and Mecha Knuckles said, "Subject to be terminated: Amy Rose". Sally and Sonic gasped while Amy's eyes shot open. "Uh oh", she said. Mecha Knuckles' chest suddenly opened and a rocket shot out towards Amy. "AMY!!!", Sonic yelled as he homed in on the missile and knocked it away. Amy then saw a new look at Sonic as he dove in front of her: fear. This was why he always running from her, the reason he was afraid of expressing any affection for her; because of this. Metal Sonic and Scourge shot for the two. "CHAOS SPEAR", Shadow yelled and darts of energy shot at the three attackers, "Sonic, get Amy out of here". Sally darted in front of the two, "Sonic I'm so sorry for blowing your cover. I'll do my best to hold them back". "Right", Sonic said as he picked up Amy and ran off with her. "Out of the way you three", Scourge growled at Blaze Sally and Shadow, "This fight, Sonic has had coming to him for a long time". "Affirmative", Metal Sonic said, "Now stand aside before we destroy you". "CRUSH THEM", Mecha Knuckles yelled as he poised himself for a fight. "We aren't going to let you kill Sonic", Shadow said, "If that time comes, only one person can destroy him and he isn't either of you." "Blah blah blah", Scourge mocked Shadow then spun into a ball. Like a bowling ball he shot for where Sonic went. "NO", Shadow yelled then turned to the robots who prepared to follow him, "You aren't going to pass". Sally threw her strongest punch at Metal Sonic's head to her surprise, smashing it. "Take this", Blaze yelled whipping her fiery tails slashing Mecha Knuckles across his chest. "CHAOS BLAST", Shadow yelled and a wave of energy erupted from him shattering the two robots into pieces. The three stood by panting as they saw the chared remains of their robotic enemies. "Only one left", Blaze said. as she looked off to the distance, "You think Sonic can handle him?" "I'm not leaving it to chance", Shadow said and warped away shouting, "CHAOS CONTROL". When he vanished Sally stood by her hovercar weeping a little. "What's wrong?", Blaze asked. "I almost killed her", Sally cried, "I almost got Amy killed all because of my own selfishness". "It's okay", Blaze said rubbing Sally's head, "Sonic handled Scourge before and he won't blame you". Sally smiled weakly at Blaze as she comforted her.
