Things were awkward between the two boys for a few weeks. And it was painfully obvious to the others that something has changed in their relationship. Mina and Kaminari's assumption was that they were dating, while Sero, Midoryia and Todoroki thought that something else might've happened.

"Hey Mina, can you pass me an eraser?" Kirishima asked as he held out his hand expectantly.

"Sure—" she started, only to become smug, "—but only if you tell me what happened?" She crossed her arms and Kirishima let out a confused sound, his face mirroring.

"What do you mean?"

"Oh please! You and Bakugou have been dancing around each other, and you guys are even on a first name basis!" With intrigued eyes she leaned forward with a grin. "Now spill! Or no eraser."

"I'll just go get one from my desk." He reached in his drawer, finding a pink rubber worn out with lead marks all over it.

"Oh come on! Why won't you tell me?!" Mina leaned back in annoyance. "I thought I was your friend!"

"Oh don't give me that! It's none of your business!" Kirishima shrieked, baffled just as much as Mina was. With a groan he dropped his head on the wood with a thud. "... I'm sorry..."

"What's the matter? You've been off these couple of weeks. 'Specially this one. You seem more irritable."

"Then why did you push if you assumed that?" He asked groggily. It clicked.

"It's your mom, right? She has a new boyfriend?" He nodded with a sigh.

"And he's an asshole too. Not even that good looking too." Kirishima threw himself on the carpet. "He doesn't like me, and he's homophobic so that doesn't help."

"Oh sweetie, I'll mess him up if he lays a hand on you." Mina plopped down right next to him. "I guess you still haven't told your ma huh?"

"Hell no. She's never around and I'm not that close to her so I dunno what she thinks about gay people."

"Then ask her." Mina rolled on her side, sending her best supportive smile. "If she says something negative then don't tell her. If she says she doesn't mind, then come clean. Easy peasy."

A soft smile crossed his face.

Kirishima wobbled down the hallway, his hair and eyes indicating that he just awoken. He reached the door, swinging it open to the smell of bacon and syrup.

"Huh?" His brain was now wide awake to the smell of food.

"Oh, good morning Eijirou," his mother said as she set a plate on the counter. He looked around to find the room free from an older man. "Nimeta went to work early," she said, reading his mind. With a relieved nod, he dug into his food, recalling his conversation with Mina.

With all the courage in his heart and gut, and a big swallow of bread, he managed to ask : "Mom, what do you...think about ga—y people?" He stared down at his fork in suspense.

"Why do you want to know?" she replied, setting down her towel and placing a hand on her hip. 'Oh no...'

     "N-Nevermind. I—I was just curious."

"Eijirou, is something bothering you? Is there something you wanna tell me?" She circled around the counter to place a loving hand on his back. His heart was racing, and he had a feeling that she could even hear it.
