Erin sat in his dark, empty room, there was no sound, not even his breathing. He sat on the ground, in the middle of the room, in front of the door and waited, he wasn't waiting for anything in general, just waiting. He glared his eyes and stared at his legs, wondering why he was in this room, then he remembered, like always.
He locked himself in this room, he was in rage and sorrow at the time and didn't know how to let it out so, he locked himself in his room for four years. Today was his 14th Birthday, he locked himself in this almost empty room on his 10th Birthday. He sighed and moved his hair away from his eyes and tucked it behind his little ear that heard absolutely everything. He let his eyes wander around the darkness, wondering if anything new had popped up out of nowhere.
Nothing, like always, just the same old wall with a dresser. There wasn't much on the dresser, it still held the same clothes and supported the same jewelry box that held plenty of little necklaces, bracelets, and rings. He let out a small breath and twisted his freshly brushed hair around his small and frail finger. Knowing his next meal would be arriving soon, he crawled closer to the door that sat in front of it.
Soon enough he heard a hollow knock and a small voice, "Prince Erin, your food has arrived." Erin nodded as if she could see him. He waited and soon heard footsteps that got more and more distant. He opened his door and peered out, "Thank you, Emilia" he said, it was quiet, in fact, it was so quiet that even he struggled to hear it. Reaching his hand out for the food, he watched his hand, it was small for a boys hand, very small.
He grabbed the food and quickly brought the plate in his room, ate and put it back, shut the door and went back to sitting in the middle of the dark, warm, empty room. No one had seen his face for four years, sometimes he heard they're whispers, "I wonder what the Prince looks like." "Oh, I hope he's just as handsome as his father was!!" "Yes, yes, that would be great!"
Erin never wondered why they said those things, his mind was usually blank -- probably why he rarely got bored. Today was nice, he decided to stand by the window that had dark gray curtains covering most of it. He watched as the townspeople went about their day as if nothing was wrong. Erin kept a blank face as the anger boiled inside him, "How come they get to be happy, why did I haft to be born into this family! How can they go along with their day as they're Prince stays in his empty room all day!!" he thought before calming himself.
A small girl ran up the castle gates and stared in wonder, her big blue eyes reminded him of ice. He couldn't help but soften his heart up for little children, after all, they were still sweet and innocent. He watched as she was scooped up and carried away by her mother. After a while, he got bored and decided it was time to brush his hair again.
He closed the curtains and walked to the mirror with a brush. He stared at his reflection and sighed in shame. He wasn't handsome like his father, he was pretty like his mother. He had pale skin and round face with a smooth chin, his lips were pink and his eyes were large, one eye was blue, like fresh ocean water, one was sea green, his body was that of a developed yet flat girl, his feet and hands were small and could be described as delicate. He was short and pretty, just like a girl.
He ignored the shake in his breaths and brushed his already fully brushed hair that had not a single not. His dark brown hair was clean and went a little past his shoulder, he finished and closed his eyes and wandered over to his large, messy bed and curled up on it. He thought of his mother, knowing she probably heard rumors that he had died. She wouldn't care, she didn't even know he existed.
Erin fell asleep after a while of thinking.
He quickly fluttered his eyes open to the sound of crying, he was confused and sat up. He walked to his door and peered threw the keyhole, nothing but a hallway, he blinked and pulled away from the door. The crying grew louder and more annoying, Erin glanced at the window and saw it was late at night, "Who could be up at this hour?" he thought before slowly opening his door.
He stepped out, knowing it was a brave move, Erin glanced around and saw the figure of a person shaking in the throne room (The throne room was right in front of the castle doors and there were two hallways leading out on each backside of the room), he pondered for a moment and walked forward. The figure jolted up from the ground, Erin jumped back and held his breath. The crying calmed and it was clear that it was the sob of a girl.
Erin got an uneasy feeling and reached for one of the many lamps that lined the hallway walls. The figure moved as if it had turned around and was facing him, he quickly flipped the switch that caused the lamp oil to burn and light the fire. They're stood a small girl with light blond hair and dark green eyes that were so lively you'd think they were glass beads that had a lamp facing them.
The girl had fair skin and dark pink lips, her eyes drooped and her nose was small and petite, like her frame that seemed to lack all nourishment, she had large rough hands and her feet were too small for her body. She wasn't pretty and had a sharp face. Erin stared and fear struck threw him, he'd not once in his life seen her before and knew not of her wicked intentions. He squeaked before fleeing to his room and shutting the door, "Oh dear, wait! Please, I apologize! Please do come out boy!" she called out, her voice was pretty and slightly deeper than the average girls.
She lightly banged on the door as she sobbed, Erin sat on the other side and panicked. He was terrified, what did she want from him?! He calmed himself and knocked twice on the door to catch her attention. "What do you need..?" He asked, his voice broke halfway threw you, Erin's voice was higher and sounded sweet, like sugar.
"I do not want to die! The Queen wants my head! I was walking with her hot tea and tripped on my dress...I spilled hot tea all over the Queen!" The girl cried, Erin was a little less scared now that he knew she was a mess, he turned and grabbed the doorknob. As he turned the doorknob he heard the girl shifting position, he opened the door and saw the dim figure of the girl sitting there, he only saw the side that faced the lamplight.
Her eyes were puffy from crying and her cheeks red, he couldn't help but tilt his head, he always wondered why people made water leak from their eyes, he also wondered how they did it. Erin curled his fist in fear but she only smiled, "Are you the boy that everyone claims hides in his room!?" she asked with joy in her voice, Erin was surprised and slightly offended. "Aah~ You have such a poker face! I wonder what your thinking!!" she added while staring at his black face that never released anything.
He was confused and did his best to raise an eyebrow, nothing happened, his face stayed blank and empty. The girl giggled before grabbing his cheek and pulling on it, "So young~! You look like you could be my little brother!" the girl said with a soft smile, Erin didn't like the feeling of his cheek being pulled and lightly tapped her hand. She let go, "My names Amanda Billie! What's yours? Oh right, isn't it Erin Daiso! I love the name Erin, so lucky!!" she said with a cheerful look in her green glass-like eyes.
Erin's cheek was redder than usual and he held it. He was still confused and scared and quickly crawled backward -- Amanda followed and asked, "What's wrong? Oh, don't be afraid of me, I'm nice!". Erin screeched and turned, completely crawling to the other side of the room, his heart practically sky-diving out of his chest. He sat by the chair that lay next to the window, his back hitting it caused him to lunge to the side.
Amanda stared at him and laughed, she had a cute laugh and it only made Erin more afraid. He never had anyone laugh at him and no one had gotten this close to him for years. Erin quickly stood up and ran by her, around the bed and into the small closet that was overflowing with cute stuffed animals, he buried his body in the pile and hoped she would leave him alone. Unfortunately for him, his face remained blank threw the entire situation so Amanda never caught on.
Amanda crawled to the closet and sat in front of the cracked door, waiting for him to come out, Erin squeaked when he noticed her sitting directly in front of where he was, Amanda giggled and slid the door more open so she could see the top of his head. Erin took notice of his exposed head and put a small cat toy on it, "Oh god, what do I do?! She knows I'm here!!" Erin thought while acting as if nothing happened. Amanda stared with a sweet smile full of contempt, she looked as though she was a mother waiting for her baby to finally stop face planting and walk to her.
Erin couldn't help but flush red, he was still confused and never met this girl, "She already acts like we're friends, how strange..." Erin thought. He couldn't help but feel safe with her sitting directly in front of him, as though she was about to protect him. "Are you going to come out Erin? It's been five minutes, aren't you bored now? If you'd like we can play! Oh, yes, yes! We shall pillow fight! I'll take this fluffy bunny, you take this large dog one!!" Amanda said with a tune to her voice.
Erin quickly sat up, "Pillow fight?" He asked, his voice was cute and had a slight break to it. "Yes! You know...hitting one another with a soft pillow?" Amanda replied. Erin tilted his head, "Pillow fight? How can you fight without a weapon??" -- "The pillow is the weapon..." -- "Makes no sense." -- "Yes it does, open your mind and you'll understand!" Amanda stated after the chain of conversation between the two.
Erin puffed up one cheek and looked away, he was trying to make a pouting face. Amanda smiled and stood up, grabbed the large bunny toy and slapped him on the left side with it! Erin was shocked and instantly got flung to the side of the closet, hitting the wooden wall. Amanda then pats him on the head, "Like that.". Erin held his left side with a scowl, stood up and picked up the dog.
He then noticed the size difference between the two and sat right back down, she was at least three or so inches taller. "I wanna go to bed." -- "But, I need you to tell your mum to let me live." -- "Why should I? You hit me." -- "Yeah, with a pillow. The softest thing on Earth." -- "It wasn't soft!!" -- "Yes it was! Here, I'll hit myself too!" Amanda replied as she hit herself in the face with the pillow, "Soft." Erin scowled harder and decided there was no use arguing, she seemed capable of good arguing.
Amanda stuck out her hand for him to take, Erin looked at it and questioned if he should take it. He gave in and grabbed the hand, he instantly flushed red from embarrassment, he couldn't help but internally smile, "I like being touched, maybe I should let people hold my hands more often." Erin thought, his face not releasing a single smile. Amanda pulled him up and giggled, "Oh, come on, why don't you smile love?".
Erin made another pathetic pouty face again and acted as though he didn't hear her. Amanda frowned, "Come on, smile." -- "No" -- "Why?" -- "Get out." -- "Hey~ Don't be so cold." -- "Leave, I'll tell my mother to let ya live, but ya haft to get out." Erin replied while walking around her. "Really!?" Amanda said the cheer in her voice was strong, "Yes, now go, and tell no one about me." Erin said, his voice was strong now and didn't break.
Amanda squealed and ran out of the room, shutting the door behind her. Erin sighed, "Now...to plan. I think I'll tell the maid to get the Queen's most trusted servant and tell her to beg for Amanda's life...", Erin nodded and decided that was one he wanted to do. "Now...time for bed." He added while walking to his bed, he then crawled onto the bed and curled up under the thick blankets.
The next day when Erin's breakfast arrived, he unleashed his plan and ended up winning. "Phew, finally Emelia got back to me..." Erin mumbled while eating his dinner, it was a salad with a side of apple slices, Erin didn't like apples but didn't have the guts to tell anyone. He sighed and finished eating the apples, he sipped the water he was given and put it outside the door with the plate, he then walked to the window and stared at the people walking by. Suddenly an idea popped into his head, "These people...they need to pay for their crimes. They eat and sleep as if nothings wrong but really, everything's wrong. They allow such evil people in they're village and never fix it...I should be the one to teach them right..?" Erin smiled at this thought, the corners of his mouth curled upward and he giggled at the idea. "I'll burn it down...".
The maid came around to grab his plate and was stopped by a voice, "Emelia, do you mind...getting the General for me?" the voice asked, Emelia, was shocked and replied in a frightened voice, "Y-Yes your majesty...I'll go get him for you...", Erin grinned and crossed his arms, you could say he was proud, after all, he was just about to set fire to his innocent village. It had been a few minutes since Erin had sent the maid, he was sitting the chair by the window, his arms crossed and that stuck up smirk on his face, he was overjoyed, he was going to have the children round up and set the village on fire, sparing the children only.
"Y-Your Majesty, you sent for me...I'm here." A masculine voice called from outside of Erin's room, Erin's smirk grew wider as he replied, "I want you to set fire to the town, but before gather all of the children and put them in the courtyard. We wouldn't like to lose any youngsters." -- "S-S-Sir, a-are yo-ou sur-r-re???" -- "Absolutely." Erin said, his face returning to blank and hollow. He could hear the General and Maids soft sobs, they didn't want to it and that only made Erin happier. "Off you go, I don't feel like wasting time," Erin called out, scaring the maid so that she started crying out loud, "Please, my mother, father, and siblings live in town sir...please don't...".
Erin giggled, that wicked grin returning, "I'll do as I please, set it on fire, spar every child 13 and under." -- "Y-Yes your majesty..." The General replied, his voice scratchy and broken up. He only stopped grinning when he heard they're footsteps walking away, he stood up and turned and walked the little steps to the window, he stared as several dozen guards rushed outside and started gently grabbing children from mothers and from playing, Erin stared in wonder.
He watched in glares at the sight, the children all cried and screamed, their mothers got on their knees at the sight of the large torches carried by a few guards. Erin felt pity for all the mothers and sighed, moving the chair and sitting down, resting his chin on his palm. He jumped as he noticed the raging flames, he smiled, it was a sweet smile -- which made it all the more worse. The fire burned red and beautiful, he never touched fire and always wondered what if felt like.
He tilted his head continued to smile that evil, sweet and innocent like smile, the boy's small figure shook as he giggled with a lack of remorse for the innocent people he was killing.
