The sound of a gunshot echoed throughout his house as I stood there, arm out and a gun in my hand. Droplets of blood rained down the walls like the bullet I had just sent through him, soaking the carpet at the bottom. I don't know whether he deserved to die or not but that wasn't my place, Nor was it my concern, I just had to get the job done. I lowered my arm and looked stone faced at the sight in front of me, shoving the cold gun back into my bag before using the same hand to run through my hair. The same hand I had held the gun with, the same hand that caused the beige walls to turn red, the same hand that I used to kill him...
As I closed my front door behind me I was quickly greeted by the only untainted person in my life, my best friend and housemate Evangeline. She hastily jumped up from the sofa in the living room and made her way over to me, bubbly and bright as always. "Ann! You're back!" she said, smiling warmly to me. "Indeed, you're happy about something i see?" I questioned inquisitively. "I got my paycheck today, we can go to that new fair that opened up." she suggested, I could tell from her eyes she was desperate to go. I decided to tease her a little. "I don't know... I'm quite tired..." I replied, watching her expression turn from excitement to disappointment. I hate to see her in a negative mood so I spoke up once again. "Oh i'm just pulling your leg! Get your coat on and we'll go." I watched her expression change again, it was back to excitement. We both grabbed our coats and headed out.
The car came to a halt outside the colourful looking fairground, I turned off the car and took of my seat belt, opening the door and swinging my legs out directly after. The cold air hit the part of my legs that my dress didn't cover, sending a chill down my spine. This should be fun, I thought to myself before joining Evangeline's side and walking towards the entrance...
