Chapter 1

(AN: The first part of this chapter will be in third person, and then switch to Shadow's POV)

Shadow's alarm clock began to beep, making her groan and slowly prise open her eyes.
"Ugh." She sighed and stretched out her arm to switch it off.
She rubbed her eyes and removed the sticky covers from her body.
"Shadow, you awake yet?!" Shadow's mother screamed from the bottom of the stairs."You're so lazy! Get the hell up!"
She probably just woke up the whole neighbourhood screaming like that, Shadow thought to herself, smirking.
"Yes mother!' Shadow called back down.
She walked over to her wardrobe and pulled out some comfortable clothes.
"I'm going out! Don't do anything you'll regret!" Her mother screeched again.
Great, this means she would probably be left alone for about 3 days. She couldn't wait to leave home. She slipped on some clothes and hurried downstairs.
"Where should I go today?" Shadow spoke to herself.
She was so used to being left alone that she usually spoke to herself.
She filled her backpack with food and other things she would need while she was out, and zipped it up.

SHADOWS POV:

I closed the door behind me, not bothering to lock it. Firstly I didn't have a key, and second there wasn't anything valuable in there anyway.
I moved quickly out of the neighbourhood area and into the meadow. There was some sort of forest that I had been wanting to explore.
"Here it goes." I sighed as I moved into the forest.
It had a weird dark atmosphere to it, but I felt strangely relaxed in here. There was an eerie silence.
I made my deeper into the forest, it was getting more exciting, and I was pretty sure I was going to get lost in here.
I shuddered at the thought.
I could hear some sort of...swooshing noise? It sounded like a pair of wings...just larger.
It seemed to be getting closer. I threw myself onto the ground, taking whatever cover I could get from whatever it was.
Something grabbed me from the back.
"Agh!' I screamed out, the thing had a strong grip on me and I was terrified.
I was thrown forward onto the ground in a harsh motion.
I was shocked at what was in front of me.
A wolf. A winged wolf. Scrap that. It was a huge winged wolf!
It was growling fiercely at me and I cowered away from it. It suddenly jumped on top of me and I gasped in pain.
It began to snap it's teeth at me, trying to do whatever injuries it could to my face. I reached up with my free hand and began to try and push its head away.
The wolfs eyes widened and he slowly got off of me. I never noticed the two wolves behind him, that were staring at him in confusion.
"She's the one!"He exclaimed to them, nodding slightly.
Talking, large, winged wolves?! And what does he mean by I'm the one? What one?
The wolf in front of my motioned for my to get onto his back. I hesitated for a moment but his growl made me jump, and I quickly got on.
What on earth is this place?
