Two fish, both in the same world, but living it drastically different. At fish high school, there's nothing worse then having a bad first impression. But in high school, you don't get a first impression, whatever you did in middle school, it sticks with you. And that's exactly what happened with Jimmy, the lonely reject nicknamed "Tadpole" Other people, cool people, become the king of the world, like Harold, who rules the school along with a few other fish. All the others either worship Harold or are intimidated.

As Jimmy walked through the hallway he passed through all different kinds of fish. He believed he didn't fit in with anyone. And to others it was true, because Jimmy didn't have any friend, but that was okay, because Jimmy didn't want any. Harold on the other hand was quite the opposite, he needed friends and the popularity even though in reality he didn't have any friend either, because he didn't know these fish, not really anyways.

Harold and Jimmy had a couples of classes together, but they never really noticed each other. Both Harold and Jimmy were very smart fish, so they were in classes for that smarter fish. They didn't talk to each other because fish like Harold and Jimmy never interacted with each other. It just wasn't like that around here.

The bell rang to mark the end of the long day. The fish swam out of their school, desperate to get home. In attempt to hurry out  Jimmy fell into the fins of the most popular fish of the school, Harold. See that's the most embarrassing thing a fish that is an outcast can do. But this interaction was different, for what seemed like years, Harold and Jimmy's eyes locked, and there was a spark. Harold quickly looked away, he couldn't be seen with a fish of a lower status.

Harold's friends laughed, "What a loser" they said. Harold agreed, what else was he supposed to do? Stick up for him? That was unheard of at their school. Harold was the cool kid and Jimmy wasn't, that's how it has always has been and how it always will be. "Get out of here, tadpole", Harold said while smirking. It hurt Harold to bully Jimmy, but he knew he had to.

Jimmy looked away, what he had mistaken for love at first sight was  actually just plain evil. It didn't matter anyway, Jimmy was going to avoid Harold and his friends at all cost, even if it meant he didn't get to explore whatever connection he thought him and Harold had. Jimmy swam away quickly and went home. As he was in his bed last night, he couldn't help but think of Harold. Thoughts of him zoning through his head for the rest of the night while he tried to sleep.

He ended up not getting much sleep last night because of the thoughts of Harold roaming through his head. He went to school tired, and fell asleep in most of his classes, embarrassing himself in front of Harold and the other fish. He went home with shame filling his head, along with a bit of sadness. He felt himself feel something different for Harold that he didn't feel for any other fish. It was something that Jimmy had never felt before...
