"Leo" POV
We just lost Annabeth and Percy. It was the middle of the night and Jason was on deck looking out for ventus. Everyone else was asleep and I was pretty sure Jason wouldn't come into the engine room. I'm sure you wanna know what I'm talking about. Well, I'm Lea Valdez, but everyone knows me as Leo Valdez. You see I'm actually a female. After my mom died I looked through the ashes and found a note and a small almost unnoticeable machine. The note was a bit burned but still readable. I read the note and it said "Lea if your reading this something has happened to me. This note should have a small machine with it. The machine is a voice modulator, it's set so you will sound like a boy any age you are. Please use this if people found out you were a girl something very bad might happen. I'm sorry Lea if I have left you." After that incident I always used the mechanism. Well....most of the time. If I was sure I was alone I would take it off, and the bandages around my D cups.

I took off the things that made me look like a guy and put on a bra. Then I heard slight screaming coming from down the hall. I got up and went towards the noise pretty sure Jason didn't hear it. I followed the noise to Nico's room. I wasn't surprised. I mean he went through Tartarus alone of course he'd have nightmares. I slipped into his room unnoticed. He was tossing and turning in his sleep. I crept up near his bed. His hair was tangled and messed up, blankets half on/half off of him, and his face even with his eyes closed was full of fear. There must be something in here to calm him down I thought as I looked around. I looked in a bedside drawer and found a sheet of music with the lyrics. It looked like a lullaby. I knew my singing wasn't very good (she's way to modest she sounds amazing), but I went a head and sang because he seemed to be getting worse. So I sat down on the bed and started to sing.

"Nico's Lullaby" by Paola Bennet
close your eyes; i know what you see
the darkness is high, and you're in ten feet deep
but we've survived more terrible monsters than sleep
and you know i will be here to tell you to breathe

tu sei il mio soldatino (you're my little soldier)
la ragione per cui vivo (the reason i live)
non ti scordar di me (don't forget me)
io veglierò su di te (i'm watching over you)

stumbling lost; the last choice of all that you meet
it's the cost of ruling those 'neath your feet
paths you've crossed, and trust you're trying to keep
you're exhausted, listening for a voice that can't speak

(ma nico, mio caro)

tu sei il mio soldatino (you're my little soldier)
la ragione ho vissuto (the reason i lived)
non ti scordar di me (don't forget me)
io veglierò su di te (i'm watching over you)

so you run; through shadows you roam
seams undone by the love you thought you could own
but he's just one of many that you might call home
and maybe someday, the bitter will fade from your bones
fade from your bones oh

eri il mio soldatino (you were my little soldier)
ora un principe oscuro (now, a dark prince)
ma anche per te, c'è una luce (but even for you, there is a light)
che ad un'altra vita ti conduce (that leads you to another life)

When I was done with the song Nico seemed to calm down. I ran my hand through his hair, down his arm and rubbed my thumb across the back of his hand. I got up to leave but Nico held fast. I was worried I woke him but he was just barely awake. "Don't go" he asked with blurred vision. I stayed until he fell asleep again then kissed his forehead and left.
