"We are our choices." J.P. Sartre

If anyone had been there, they would have seen a young woman appear out of nowhere, take a paper out of her pocket and walk away as if everything was normal.
Of course, Hermione Granger wasn't that reckless.
She had used the Apparition and Disparition spell, making her appear in a quiet black alley because she knew the streets of this little city in Australia would be crowded at this hour of the night.
The witch joined the walking crowd, keeping her head low, though occasionally looking at the numerous bars filled with people enjoying a beer or two.
Hermione glanced at a small piece of parchment, remembering the address of her parent's house. Walking away from all the night's effervescence, she took a small dirt road that led to a few residences next to the beach.
After a few minutes of walking and searching for the right house, she stopped. The house was white with a wide porch and she could see her parents were there, because of the presence of lights.
Hermione hesitantly walked to the front door and raised a trembling hand. It had been a full year and a half since she had last seen them. Since she had obliviated them.
Just as she was going to knock, she heard laughter. Hermione took out her wand in a swift movement and opened the door without making any noise. Better safe than sorry.
She carefully made her way towards the noise and stopped at a closed door. Using a transparency spell, she made the door look invisible to her and was able to see what was happening in the other room.
What she saw and understood next broke her heart.
Both her parents looked okay, which was a relief. They were kneeling on the ground, smiling at a little girl who had some difficulty standing up. When she managed to do so, her father applauded energetically while her mother started sobbing.
"She's growing so fast!" her mother gasped, holding her husband's hand.
He tapped her back, before taking the baby girl in his arms. "I know, I know. But what can we do? After all, our little Hermy is a fast learner!" he chuckled lowly.
Hermione's mother scoffed and slapped his arm. "Stop with this surname, already! I told you that it was horrible!" she scolded him, even though there was a smile on her face. "We named her Hermione, let's only call her that."
At those words, Hermione walked backward slowly, before running out of the house at full speed. She didn't stop until she reached the same dark alley she had appeared in first.
The witch hadn't even noticed tears were falling on her cheeks, she carelessly wiped them away, muttering the spell which made her disappear.
She couldn't do what she had planned. There was no way. She couldn't steal someone's parents.
She couldn't restore her parent's memories.

"Ginny!" Harry hissed at his girlfriend. "Would you stop moving your chair? I think the lady in front of us is getting seasick just by watching you." Ginny sighed very loudly, before letting her chair fall one last time.
"Thank you," Harry said, putting a sugar cube in his coffee.
"When is she going to finally come? We've waited for hours, and still nothing!" Ginny stated dramatically.
