I remember that day,
That day in the summer.
I sat close with her,
And I said that I love her.
With a smile she replied;
I smiled back too.
She started to tear
And said 'I love you.'
Together we stand.
She then took my hand,
To walk 'cross the beach
Leaving trails in the sand.
The sunset was beautiful;
Almost as dazzling as her eyes,
As warming as her smile.
This moment was our prize.
But down went the sun
And down went the quilt.
We laid next to each other,
No pain, hurt, or guilt.
I gazed at the stars,
As she did too.
And increasingly it happened;
My love for her grew.
