Neil's POV
I just wanna keep him safe. He's what makes this place less miserable. I know, that sounds *super gay*, as Nikki puts it, but hey-- who can resist him? Certainly not me...
So, instead of staying here, just thinking and kinda pretending, I go and follow him.
"Max? You out here?". I ask the darkness. As expected, no response. I soon hear a twig snap, and I know it's him. I follow the sound, and of course, I find him by the docks. Still has headphones in, probably blaring at unsafe levels.
I walk as quietly as possible, and come to him again, and sit by him. He soon faces me, turns it down, and sighs.
" Came looking for me, Neil? " His voice is quiet, and kinda raspy.
I softly nod, and he shakes his head. "Why? What's it worth?" His eyes are so pretty in the darkness, and it kinda distracts me. I also notice the soft tear streaks. "Hey. Earth to Neil...??" And snaps his fingers in my face to break me out of my trance.
"It's... Worth... EVERYTHING..." I'm still kinda entranced, though.
Max laughs ever so softly, and leans on me.
"See, this is why I like you, Neil. You get me..." I guess he closed his eyes as he said that, cuz he fell asleep right there. Soon enough, I hear the softest, quietest snores coming from underneath me, and it slowly lulls me to sleep.
Thank God we woke with the Sun, because otherwise David or Gwen woulda found us on the docks.... Like THAT.... Definitely don't want that. Ever.
