Living Through A Pandemic

How it started

I was scrolling through my Instagram one day just minding my own business and I had noticed that there were a ton of pictures and videos going around talking about eating bats and whatnot. I didn't mind it much so I decided to continue scrolling through it. The words corona, coronavirus and covid-19 continued to pop up as I went on scrolling so I decided to look it up to see what it was about. I went on google and typed it in to try to see what it was, I ended up reading an article on google about it and it said it was some type of deadly virus that was worse then the flu. "Where the hell did this virus come from?" I asked myself, I continued to read the article and it started talking about Chinese people eating infected bats. My face went blank as I stated at my phone, "why would anyone eat a bat" I said, I put my phone aside and opened up YouTube on my PS4. I clicked through YouTube and saw basically everything about covid-19, there were a bunch of videos and memes on it and I was so confused on how I was figuring out about it so late. I didn't mind it and started watching one of my favorite YouTubers that had been gone for a long time and had just returned. After finishing a couple of his videos my mom entered my room with her phone in her hand playing a video. I continuously heard the words covid-19 and I looked at her.  "Have you heard of this conovirus stuff that everyone is talking about?" She said while still looking at her phone. "You mean coronavirus right?, Yeah I saw it just a second ago" I responded. She looked up at me and said " well I don't want you or your brother going anywhere until this mess blows over, y'all won't be bringing that stuff in my house." I looked at my game again and shook my head "ight mom" I told her, she then left my room and closed the door. I got up and picked up my phone off my dresser, I stood there for a bit and opened Instagram again and headed straight to my dm's. I began texting one of my friends and told him to come over so we could talk. My friend Clayton came to my house a few minutes later because he lived right down the road. We talked for a bit about the new uprising pandemic and apparently he knew everything about it. He started telling me about death rates and which country had the most cases, I got a bit worried because it felt like everyone was talking about this. After a few hours of hinging with my friend, he left and I went to sleep.
