Chapter one: The trouble begins

Harry potter was back for his 8th year at Hogwarts and he was hoping this would be a normal year. The golden trio got there and Mrs. Mcgonagall led all the 8th years into the great hall and led them to a new smaller table in the left of the great hall just for the 8th years. She went through a long welcoming speech and harry couldn't help but zone out.

Hogwarts was his home but he didn't know what this year would bring. Harry just wanted to sleep but the feast took so long with all the sorting, he and Ron cheered everytime a kid was sorted into Gryffindor. When Mrs. Mcgonagall told all the 8th years to follow her they quickly got up. They headed to what harry realized was a new tower in the castle. The tower went into a common room that had a scatter of red, blue, green, and yellow chairs and sofas.The fire was going and it was crackling in the awe of the student who have never seen such house unity.

There were not many people back to Hogwarts this year, and harry didn't recognize most of the kids who came back. Him, ron, dean, seamus, and neville came back for the gryffindors and a couple of girl gryffindors came back as well. For the hufflepuffs there were only about 7 of them back and same for the ravenclaws. There were only 4 slytherins that came, Draco , Pansy, blaise, and a girl harry didn't recognize. They were told that the 8th years would share a common room but were welcome to visit their old houses. Harry was not happy about having to share a common room with the slytherins and decided he would be at the gryffindor common room a lot. Everything got a little better after she announced that houses have their own sleeping area through the door with their house on it. Almost immediately everyone went into the rooms. Mrs. Mcgonagall just sighed and walked away.

Harry and ron got beds next to each other and went to sleep very fast just like the other boys. When they got up ron and harry headed to the great hall with hermione. Hermione was talking about the new book she was reading until they got into the Great Hall. Her topic was quickly changed to quiddich and if the boys were going to play this year and if they were even allowed. The fast was soon over and it was time for double potions with the slytherins. They were told to come in and they would be paired up. Ron and Neville were put together, hermione and pansy, and so on until there was just harry and draco left so they had to be put together. Harry just sighed and sat down to wait for instructions, draco did the same. Snape started talking about a potion that changed a cat into a kitten. They were each given a large house cat that seemed to be about 10 or 11 years old. Snape gave brief directions then told everyone to start working. Harry cut things and handed them to Draco because he said "This needs to be good and your not messing it up!" Harry didn't mind only having to chop but it gave him time to just gaze at draco. Harry was stunned at how grey and detailed Draco's eyes were, and how he made a little faces when concentration. He didn't realize he was staring until Draco smacked his arm to hand him the next ingredient. Still in a daze he dropped some chopped dragon scales in the cauldron.

Draco yelled and pushed harry back, just as he did this the potion went up and splashed all over draco. Snape came rushing over and was too shocked to speak, everyone was. No one could see Draco there was only a pile of clothes until they started to move and a small blond head popped out and said "Hawwy?" Harry was shocked but kneeled down in front of the child. Snape went into action to ask what happened, but before he could draco started to cry and said to harry "Hawwy don't let da mean man yell at me" harry was so in awe at the child that he picked him up and he stopped crying. Snape dismissed everyone but harry. Snape told them to go to Dumbledore's office and talk to him while he gets madam pomfrey and Mrs. Mcgonagall. Draco was on harry's hip and his hands holding onto his neck. Harry had tried to put him down but everytime he would start crying so they walked quietly to the office.

When they got there harry sat down and tried to put draco down also but he refused, so they sat together on the chair. Dumbledore started "Harry, what has happened?" Harry told him everything that had happened in potions that felt like years ago, when it was only about half an hour. Right as harry was finishing snape, Madam pomfrey , and Mrs. Mcgonagall came in.

They all couldn't believe what they saw and Mrs. Mcgonagall started to yell at harry " HARRY JAMES POTTER WHAT IN THE WORLD HAVE YOU DONE???" She was going to continue yelling but she felt something on her leg and looked down. It was draco hitting her leg. She tried to tell him to get off but all he kept yelling was "Don't yell at my hawwy!" Mrs. Mcgonagall looked at snape and Dumbledore and snape started to explain what had happened. It turns out that the chopped dragon scales was not the next ingredient and that caused it to explode onto draco.

Everyone got very quiet until harry asked "How do you turn him back?" Everyone looked at snape. He took a long sigh and said "I will have to make a potion, but it will take 6 months" Harrys mouth fell wide open. All he could say was "Who is going to watch Malfoy?" Before the adults could answer Draco yelled "I'm not Mawfoy, im dwaco! Mawfoy is my daddy" Everyone looked stunned but Dumbledore answered "He can stay here with one of his friends" Draco yelled again "I wanna stay wif hawwy!" Dumbledore chuckled and Mrs. Mcgonagall said "How about he stays with you Mr. Potter? He seemed to like you and it would be a great punishment" All harry could manage to get out was "bloody hell" which made all the teachers respond with "Language! There is a kid" Right after this draco made a sound of protest and said "Im not a kid! Im seben!" they all got quiet and took in what the small boy said. Harry couldn't believe that he was seven, he was so small and skinny. He couldn't have been older than five.

When harry left his thoughts Dumbledor was telling Mrs. Mcgonagall to take them to the room of requirements and Draco was trying to get away from madam pomfrey , who was trying to give him a check up. She looked up at harry and he got up and stopped draco and said "Draco, let her check you out to make sure your ok" Surprising he stopped running and let her do her thing.

After he was checked out they headed to the room of requirements.
