The scorching sun beamed down on the island of Patch, off to the west coast of Vacuo. It always was at this time of year that Patch seemed to bloom, shining out it's tropical and laid back vibes. Soft sands and crystal waters were to soon be covered by excited students, starting their much longed for summer vacation, so it's obviously the busiest time of the year for the glowing island.
"Yang! Wake up, it's time for work!" Ruby's cheerful grin spread across her face, pulling the curtains open to wake the golden haired girl.
The sudden light shone right on Yangs face, blinding her with its brightness.
"Works tomorrow, remember" Yang groaned, pulling her covers over her face.
"That's what you said yesterday silly!" Ruby rolled her eyes, using her semblance to quickly rip the covers off her tired sister.
Yang shivered from the cool breeze before Ruby rolled her off the bed to make sure she's fully awakened.
"You're such a pest sometimes" Yang lifted herself up from the floor and stretched out her tired arms.
"Get ready quickly, we're already late!" She giggled before bouncing out of the room.
"Sure thing sis" she muttered under her breath with a smile.
Her sudden happiness had sprung to her mind when she realised that summer was finally here. With summer comes tons of new people, amazing parties and exciting opportunities. Her enthusiasm glowed in her as she got dressed. She chose her high waisted shorts, crop top and sandals, grabbing her apron before leaving.
The two girls set out to reach the local café which they had both taken up summer jobs at since the age of 13. It was mostly filled with relaxed locals, provided a low pay and was pretty exhausting with all the standing around but it was better than nothing.
"The boats and airships are arriving already" Ruby beamed as the made their way along the golden beach "The DJs have already set up their equipment, I'm so excited for tonight's party!"
"Me too" Yang secured her apron and began to tie her messy hair into a ponytail. She slid her sunglasses on and shot a wicked grin to Ruby "Lets hope this summer brings some cute boys as well"
