Chapter 1

Osamu Dazai, who seemingly has no weakness, has only one weakness. His one and only blood-related family left in this world, his little sister. He would do everything for his sister, even his own life.

The Present

A normal day in the agency. Like always, Dazai is being nagged by Kunikida for not doing his work. Atsushi helping to calm the two, Ranpo doing his usual observation work, Tanizaki, Kenji and Yosano on a job. And a black haired girl with her hair being on the top of her shoulder and with blue eyes and with a pink T-shirt with a jacket of jeans and a pair of jeans, Aikawa Haru(17). The girl was doing her usual spacing out to whatever in front of her eyes.

"That is why....YOU SHOULD DO YOUR JOB MORE SERIOUSLY I AM SAYING",Kunikida angrily shouted to the person who he is so tired of telling him all the time.

"Ehh.Why should I do that? In the end, you always do mine so it's okay anyway", said the person who lazily lay on his chair, Dazai.

"KISAMA....You are calling yourself a member of the Detective Agency, huh?", Kunikida again shouted.

"Kunikida-san, Dazai-san also didn't have any bad intention. I have also corrected his mistake so isn't it okay?", Atsushi trying his best to calm the fuming adult.

"Atsushi-kun is so nice. Someone should learn from him. He just only joined yesterday and he knows how to do the work around here.", said Dazai.

"Don't spoil him, Atsushi. This pile of bandages can do if he sets his mind into it", Kunikida said more calmly than a moment ago.

"Ah, now that I think about it, it is almost lunch time, let's go to the café. Will you guys go with me?", said Dazai cheerfully.

"Ah, yes sir, Dazai-san", Atsushi said as he hurriedly tidy up his desk.

"I am not going. I need to go to a job with Ranpo-san later. We will grab our lunch on the way......Wait a moment, I am not finish talking with you you asshole Dazai", Kunikida said as he realized that Dazai was running away.

"Will you come with me too, Haru?", Dazai said while extending his hand to the little girl who had been quiet all the time with Kunikida nagging in the background.

The girl simply nodded and took his hand. And the three of them left for the café leaving Kunikida and Ranpo behind.

Café

"Welcome to the café", said the maid.

"Ah, if it isn't Dazai-san and Atsushi-kun", said Tanizaki who was drinking coffee with his sister, Naomi.

"Eh, Tanizaki-san, aren't you supposed to be on a job with Kenji-san and Yosano-san?", said Atsushi while taking a seat near them and with Dazai and Haru on the counter.

"Ah.. That is...I have been working without sleep for a few days and when Yosano-sensei saw my eyes, she told me to get back to the agency and get some rest.", said Tanizaki a little embarrassed at his own incompetence.

"That is right. Nii-sama works too much. He needs to rest once in a while," said Naomi hugging his arm.

"Ah..is that so? I will have two chicken sandwich, please", Atsushi said to the maid who was standing next to him, ready to take orders.

"We will have a curry rice, one cup of milk, one hamburger steak and a cup of coffee," Dazai also ordered.

"Eh, Dazai-san, isn't it too much for you to eat by yourself?", said Atsushi shockingly.

"Didn't I say "We" Atsushi-kun? It's for the two of us. And my stomach would never fit all of them in." said Dazai.

"Onii-sama, you should eat more. You are all skinny bony inside." said Naomi, interrupting Atsushi's thought of the two people, Dazai and Haru.

"How would you know that I am all skinny and bony inside?" said Tanizaki.

"Do you really want me to tell in front of these people?" said Naomi teasingly.

"Umm...what were the two of you doing before joining this agency?" said Atsushi hurriedly who thought that there was a need to change where this conversation was heading.

"Then Atsushi-kun, how about you try guessing what the people here did?", said Dazai who was drinking his cup of coffee.

"Umm..by the looks of it, Tanizaki-san used to be a student and Naomi-san who is wearing a school uniform is now a student." said Atsushi who was thinking.

"Well, that should have been obvious. How about Dazai-san and Haru-chan? What they were doing before they join the Agency is one of the seven mysteries of the Agency." said Tanizaki.

"Eh.. why are they a mystery?" said Atsushi who was a bit confused.

"Because no one has been able to guess right and there is a reward for those who guess right." Tanizaki explained.

"Eh.. A reward you say?" Atsushi gulped. "I will try my best. Haru-san was a student like Tanizaki-san, right?".

"Haha.. Atsushi-kun, if it was that then even I can also guess. But unfortunately, that is not right." said Tanizaki laughing.

And then Atsushi spent about half an hour deducing the occupations of Dazai and Haru and to his disappointment, nothing was right. Right before Atsushi spoke another occupation, Dazai's phone rang.

"Ah, it's from Kunikida-kun. I wonder what it is about. Hello, Kunikida-kun. Did you miss me so much that you phone call me?" said Dazai jokingly.

Atsushi could swear that he could hear Kunikida's shout from the phone to his place. After the phone call was finished, Dazai stood up, finishing his meal.

"Now then, let's go. There is an employer waiting in the agency and as Kunikida-kun and Ranpo-san are about to head out, there will be no one at the Agency. We should hurry or else Kunikida-kun will nag at us again." Dazai said, while paying for the meal.

"Yes sir, Dazai-san" Atsushi hurriedly ate his sandwich and got up.

"We will come, too. I'm pretty much recovered anyway." Tanizaki said while telling Naomi that he is feeling okay now.

"Okay then...let's go Haru" Dazai said once again lending a hand to the girl.

The girl also simply nodded and took his hand and they all existed the café. And while in the two times that Dazai extended his hand to Haru, Atsushi could definitely saw a smile that is unlike other times that he had seen with the others. Well, it might be that he could be seeing things too.
