Her eyes dead set on the picture in front of her. The picture was scrunched up. Steadying her breath as she stood up fully. Diamond pulled off her gloves from her hands. Throwing them on the desk.
"Feel better?" Eric asked. Diamond sighed, nothing made her feel better. Though it did help.
"Not really. You know what would help, whiskey." Diamond smiled as she faced Eric. Eric rolled his eyes.
"Diamond, you are sixteen. You can't drink yet."
"Yes, I can. Just not legally." Diamond smirked. Eric sighed as he stood up from the chair.
"Diamond. I will not have this argument with you again. Now go. Mark is waiting." Eric said as he looked at her sternly. Diamond rolled her eyes at him. Grabbing her backpack, swinging it over her shoulder.
"You're not my father. Stop acting like it." She said as she walked out of the office. Eric sighed as he sat down in the chair, watching her leave. Diamond smiled at everyone she passed. Walking out of the bar. Seeing Mark already on his motorcycle.
"Finally," Mark said as he looked at Diamond. Diamond rolled her eyes as she got on her motorcycle. Mark and she started their bikes. As their bikes roared, they placed their helmets on their heads. They rode down the streets of the small town, Lightwood. It only takes five minutes to get to high school. Parking their motorcycles at Java Jones, the coffee shop right across from the high school, taking off their helmets. Diamond placed her helmet on her bike handle. Putting her hair into a ponytail. The light purple hair was a little lower than her shoulders when in a ponytail. Diamond looked over at Mark who was just standing there starring at Zane. Diamond rolled her eyes. Diamond walked over to Mark.
"Mark." Diamond said as she clapped her hands in front of his face. Mark shock his face and turned to Diamond.
"What the hell," he said.
"Stop drooling." Diamond said and then walked away. Mark rolled his eyes and speed-walked a little to catch up with Diamond.
"So, what took you so long this morning?" Mark said as they walked across the street. Diamond smiled thinking of why she was late.
"Well uh, I wasn't exactly at home this morning." Diamond said as they reached the sidewalk. Mark looked over at her confused for a moment, finalizing realizing what she meant.
"Diamond. You need to stop playing with people's feelings." Mark said as the walked toward a tree that they usually sit under waiting for class to begin.
"It's not my fault that people want me." Diamond said as she turned around, as she turned in her circle she bumped into some guy. They both fell, Diamond groaned as she stood up. The guy pushed himself up as well. The guy picked up Diamond's backpack, handing it to her.
"I'm sorry, here." the guy said as he looked down at Diamond. Diamond stood in shock. The guy was as hot as hell. Diamond stared up at his emerald green eyes. His brown hair looked messy but perfect. He was also perfectly fit, Diamond was in awe at the figure. Diamond was about to his chest in height. Diamond grabbed her backpack.
"It's cool. Umm, are you new?" Diamond asked. Diamond knows everyone in this small town, but she has never seemed him.
"Yeah I just moved here." the guy smiled. Diamond did a slight smile at his smile.
"What's your name?" Diamond asked.
"Tim Fletcher."
"Well, Tim Fletcher, I'm Diamond Jackson. If you need someone to show you around our small town you can just come to me." Diamond smiled.
"I'll keep that in mind. I have to go. See you later Diamond." Tim said as walked away to the school building.
"Geez Diamond, drool much," Mark said. Diamond looked at Mark, who just had a smirk on his face.
"Oh, shut it." Diamond said as she continued to walk to the tree.
***Lunch***
"Hey Lovebirds," Diamond said as she sat down next to Mark, which was across from Kayla and Taylor. Kayla had her head on Taylor's shoulder. Diamond smiled at the happy couple. Sighing inside as she secretly wished for what they had. Kayla giggled at Diamond's comment, lifting her head off of Taylor's shoulder.
"So, Diamond. Mark told us about all this new kid you were drooling over this morning." Kayla said. Diamond glared quickly at Mark then looked back at Kayla.
"I was not drooling. I was just being friendly." Diamond said.
"You're never friendly," Taylor said as she took a strawberry and fed it to Kayla. Diamond rolled her eyes at her friends. As everyone started to eat their food, well except for Diamond. Scrolling threw her phone, looking at her schedule for the next week. Soon a girl with mid-length blonde hair walked by their tables. Looking over to see Diamond. Diamond felt eyes on her, Diamond looked up at the blonde. Winking at the blonde, the blonde walked off with a blush on her cheeks. Mark saw and leaned over to Diamond.
"Stop. Please. It's not right to play with people." Mark whispered into her ear. Diamond knew he was right. Mark sat back up and continued to eat. Diamond looked around the lunch yard. Her eyes landed on Tim, he was sitting with Jacob Lightwood, Lucy Star, Jackie Lightwood, and Ella Carter. Diamond sighed as she saw who he was sitting with.
***After School***
Diamond groaned as she walked into Java Jones. Mark left earlier to go with Zane. Diamond looked at the barista, it was weird seeing someone else besides Mark.
"Can I get you something ?" the man said.
"Yeah, just water. Can you sprinkle some vodka into it?" Diamond asked. The man looked at her weird. Diamond shook her head as she remembered that she wasn't in the bar. "Umm nevermind. Just water." Diamond said. The man nodded and went to grab a water bottle out of the fridge.
"2.19 please." The man said.
"I'll pay later."Diamond said as she walked away before the man could say anything. Walking out of the door and placing the water bottle into her backpack pocket. Taking her hair out of her ponytail. Picking up her helmet, getting ready to put it on.
"Diamond!!" She heard her name be called. Turning her head to see Tim running a little to her. She placed the helmet back on her motorcycle.
"Hey." Diamond said as he stopped in front of her.
"I wanted to take you up on your offer," Tim said while Diamond looked at him confused. "To show me around town." Tim finished.
"Oh, right. Well okay then." Diamond said as she grabbed the water bottle out of her backpack pocket. Then put her backpack next to her motorcycle. Tim smiled at her. Diamond smiled back.
