Secretdawn knows exactly where the island is. She can see it- every turn, every wing flap it would take to cross the ocean. She knew the way to the island, no wrong turns, no second guessing. But she didn't know if she should tell the others. Because while she can see everything that they would need to get there, she can't see a single thing about the island itself. Only the prophecy, her nightmare- beyond was just darkness. It was like nothing she'd ever experienced before- the second they landed on the rocky shore of the island, it just-stopped. A dark void where the future should be, she couldn't see anything. On a couple paths, if she went far enough, she could see her flying off the island again. But she couldn't see what decisions it would take to GET there- she didn't know what to do.

And it terrified her. Her whole life, she was always SO SURE of exactly what she should say- until her parents made her conceal her powers. When she came to Jade Mountain Academy, that was the first time she had used her powers since she was two.

Secretdawn had no idea if her friends were going to die. She could be leading them straight to their deaths, or hers, and she would have no idea. So, why should she tell them?

But even though she couldn't see what would happen, she knew that many dragons would die if she didn't go. She definitely didn't want to be on the list of dead dragons, though. But, if she helped her friends, they could all die- and it would be all her fault.

Winter and Peril were arguing. Kinkajou, Turtle and Secretdawn sat on the outlines, whereas Qibli and Moon were trying to break them up without touching Peril. Secretdawn looked concerned, and seemed to be concentrating really hard on something. Kinkajou just looked worried for her friends. Turtle looked worried and scared.

Zero's mind was ablaze, his thoughts repeating through 'what if's in a cycle that didn't seem to stop. Winter was the heart of the fight, but Peril was right up there too.

"Well, what do you think we should do? We don't have a destination OR a good-"

"Well MAYBE you all should have THOUGHT of a stupid plan before we FLEW ALL THE WAY OUT HERE!" Peril cut Winter off, and his eyes sparked with fury.

"Don't interrupt me!" He roared, and the smoke from Peril's scales seemed to darken.

"Stop fighting." Secretdawn tried to calm them down, but the two payed no attention to her.

"You can't TELL ME WHAT TO DO!" She yelled back, smoke billowing from her nostrils.

"I JUST DID!"

"Guys, stop-" Secretdawn's words were trampled by the roaring dragons.

"Well, maybe if you let me SEE the SCROLLS-"

"You'd burn them with your freaky scales!"

"HEY-"

"That's not important right now-" Qibli was also drowned out by the two.

"I'LL BURN YOU!"

"I'D LIKE TO SEE YOU TRY!"

"OH, YEAH? You'd be dead before you could even scream, IceWing."

"Hah! That's funny. I'll freeze your tail and beat you with it before you could even TOUCH me!"

"Are you sure you want to test that theory?"

"GUYS! ENOUGH!" The two stopped to look at Secretdawn, whose eyes were tired but angry and smoke was swirling from her nostrils.

"I- know how to get there." She spoke cautiously, as if she didn't really want to say it.

Everything stopped. Everyone froze, shocked at her words. Qibli was the first to break the silence.

"You what?!" His eyes blazed into hers.

"I- I can see how to get there." She frowned, her eyes flickering around to escape from everyone's stare.

"Well- why didn't you say anything?" Zero said softly, taking a step towards Secretdawn. She looked up to stare at each of them before answering, her purple eyes resting on Zero.

"Because I can't see whether we die or not." She flinched at her own words, her gaze immediately dropping to her talons.

"Wait- if you have that strong of a future seeing power, why can't you see that? Or are you lying?" Winter said, glaring at the hybrid.

"I don't know. The second we step onto that island, it's darkness. It's like a hole was ripped in the middle of a scroll. You can't see it. It's just- a missing piece. So I have no way of telling if we all- make it- out," She choked out the last few words, barely able to get it out. "But, still. I know how to get there. If we're gonna go- you're going to need to trust me."

Moon took a deep breath. he silenced Zero's thoughts into a raindrop, and he started to nod.

"Of course I trust you, Dawn." He spoke gently, his steps closing the space between him and the hybrid. Secretdawn smiled warmly, looking up at Zero, then back at everyone else. Kinkajou and Turtle also started to agree with Zero, and they smiled at Secretdawn.

"I trust you." They both spoke at the same time, Turtle smiling and Kinkajou's bright yellow scales radiating her excitement.

Another deep breath. Of course Moon trusts Secretdawn- but she could be flying to her death.

Moon made up her mind. She nodded at the hybrid. "I'm with you." Secretdawn's smile grew a little wider, and Winter and Qibli looked at Moon.

"Are you sure, Moon?" Qibli asked her, and Winter looked impatient.

"Of course I'm sure." Moon said gently, nudging the SandWing with her tail. Winter looked away, adverting his gaze elsewhere and Moon felt a ping of sadness. How could she make both of them happy? To Moon's surprise, Winter nodded with the others.

"I'm in." His cold voice was filled with authority, and Secretdawn sat straighter as her smile brightened.

Then Qibli. The SandWing sighed heavily, then glanced at Secretdawn and then Moon. "Okay, okay. If the Prince of all things Cold can agree with you, so can I. I'm with you, Secretdawn."

Winter glared at Qibli and huffed. Peril said nothing, just nodded. Secretdawn was glowing, her smile bright as the moons.

"Call me Dawn. Let's go, then. Nothing else here will help us." The hybrid flared her wings and launched into the bright blue sky. Immediately, Zero flew after her. Then Winter, Turtle and Kinkajou. Moon smiled at Qibli.

"Come on, let's go!" She leapt into the sky, her wings expanding to glide for a moment. She made sure that Qibli was following her, and turned around to make sure Peril was coming. The SkyWing kept a small distance, but followed behind them.

The eight of them soared through the fluffy clouds, the hot sun on their backs and their whole future ahead of them.
