It was nothing more than another Monday morning, I woke up, did my regular morning routine of getting ready for school until my mom called me down stairs.
“I got a phone call from your English teacher.” She said in a very mysterious yet threatening way.”
“Oh…well what did she say?” I asked.
“Oh…nothing really, except for the fact that you’re failing her course! You know, instead of worrying about your clothes and make up, why don’t you pick up a book for once. If you don’t work hard now, you’re definitely going to worry afterwards.”
“Shut up mom! You’re the one that ended up as a house wife that does nothing but cleaning and nagging.”
She was stunned by what I had just said. She stood there, speechless.
“How dare you speak of you mom in such ways? Clearly we have been spoiling too much. I’m not dropping you off at school, you can take the bus. Said my dad
“But dad, that’s not fair! I’d have to wait outside in the cold just to get in one those dirty buses!”
“Well you should’ve thought of that before you spoke to your mom like that.”
I was so mad I went to my room and slammed the door. I started to pity myself wondering why everyone hates me and that my life sucked. I didn’t want to make my dad even more by being late for school so I continued to get ready and waited by the bus. That’s when I saw my friends drive past me, they stopped and one of them asked,
“Ew! Why are you taking the bus?”
“I had another fight with my mom, and now my dad forced me to take the bus.”
“Well hop on in!”
My friends are literally the best, the three of us have been together since 8th grade, and we never departed from one another since. I entered the hallways with my two friends on either side of me while wearing my black leather skirt, white tanked top which remains right above my belly button, covered up with my favourite pastel pink cardigan, and not to mention my pink book bag accompanied by my pink high heels. When I approached my locker, I saw Joe rushing towards me. He had very scared expression his face as his hands were shaking and gulped in fear.
“Well did you finish my book report?” I asked him.
“Y-y-yes mam.”
“Good boy!” I said with and evil grin on my face, grabbing the book report from his hand and patting him on the head, and so he left.
There was two minutes before class started and I had science first period, I got my books and left. Before the lesson began, the teacher had a special announcement.
“Students, I would like to honour a very special student. With her hard work and dedication towards this course, I would like to congratulate Sophie for getting the highest average in science.”
Everyone started clapping for her, Sophie’s cheeks became red as cherries. Some even started to make comments,
“Eh! Sophie nice job!”
This isn’t the first time something like this has happened to her, she’s extremely smart and a continuous high honours student since the start of high school. She would always be praised by her teacher and is always viewed as a role model to become the ideal student. Smile was wiped right off her face when she saw the dirty look I gave her.
“Damn Sophie, you’re such a nerd.”
One of my friends started to laugh and added,
“Next thing you know she’s marrying a robot in the future.”
