Will we ever cross paths again

Baby time!

We arrive at the hospital.

I've had quite a few contractions in the car.

I slowly waddle up to the reception desk with Zach by my side.

Z: Miss Mendes, her waters broke about 15 minutes ago
R: Okay sir, I will get a nurse through

The receptionist gets the nurse and they both come over to me.

N: Good Afternoon Miss Mendes. This way please
Y/N: Thanks

I slowly walk behind the nurse and we enter into the delivery suite.

The nurse hands me a gown to put on.

Zach helps me undress and helps me put the gown on

When Zach is helping me with my trousers he leans down to the bump and gives it one last kiss.

Z: This is the last time I can talk to you both and kiss this bump too
Y/N: Aww babe.

Zach stands up and kisses me on the lips

If I wasnt in labour I would be taking his clothes off! Damn it! What is wrong with me?!

Z: What are you thinking about?
Y/N: Ohh em nothing
Z: Really?
Y/N: Yeah sorry, kinda thinking if I wasnt in labour I would be taking your clothes off *laughs*
Z: Oh dear goodness me! I'm glad we are alone in here

There is a knock at the door. The nurse and Dr enter the room

Dr: Miss Mendes, If you could please lay on the bed and put your legs on the supports.

I lay on the bed and Zach helps me lay down. He helps me lift my legs on the supports. Once he has done that he comes up beside my face.

He starts stroking my hair and giving me little kisses on the top of my head

Dr: This may hurt a little and be uncomfortable. I need to check how Dilated you are.
Y/N: Okay thanks

The Dr does his internal checks.

Dr: You are 7cm dilated. Not long to go now
Y/N: Thanks
Dr: Do you want an epidural?
Y/N: No thank you
Dr: Not a problem

The Dr and nurse leave the room.

Z: Did you have one with Chelsea?
Y/N: No never got the chance *laughs*
Z: Why is that?
Y/N: When my waters broke I was in the sea swimming around with Aaliyah and Shawn. I never felt any different and obviously couldn't tell what was sea water and what wasnt
Z: Ohh, then what happened?
Y/N: I got back to Shawn's car, went to sit down and I couldnt sit properly it was like something was stopping me.
Z: Did you think it was Chelsea or something else?
Y/N: I thought it was something else, then Shawn looked away as I went to sort myself and said to him Shawn! Its my babies head!
Z: I bet he freaked out
Y/N: Yeah but he was more concerned about his car
Z: Did you have her in Shawn's car?
Y/N: Yeah just as the paramedics arrived.
Z: Who delivered her?
Y/N: Aailayah phoned our parents, my mom was only 5 minutes away so she helped Aailayah.
Z: Oh wow!
Y/N: Do you want to cut the cords today?
Z: Am I allowed too?
Y/N: Ofcourse you are
Z: Yes please, if that's okay? Who cut Chelsea's?
Y/N: My mom did, and that's fine. My mum says seeing her first grandchild being born was the most amazing experience. Shawn on the other hand wasnt happy that I gave birth in his car
Z: *laughs* yeah I can imagine. When did you discover Chelsea's bowel defect?
Y/N: When she was 2 weeks old. She would take her milk, then she would be sick. Her stomach became swollen so I decided to go to the hospital with her.
Z: I'm sorry I wasnt there to support you
Y/N: Its okay Zach, your here now that's all that matters
Z: You are coping with the pain very well?...
Y/N: I want to keep saying oww but it wont change it. Plus talking takes my mind off it.
