Monday
I opened my eyes slowly. The windows were letting in too much light, it burned my eyes. Something in my head hammered against my scull, causing a giant head ache to appear.
I groaned and sat up. After rubbing my eyes for a bit, I looked around. I'm in a bed, in a room I don't recognize, naked. I quickly pulled the covers up to my shoulders. When I looked down, next to the bed, I saw my pile of clothing.
I rushed to grab the small pile and laid it out on the bed. Then I put the clothes on carefully, one by one.
After I was dressed in yesterday's clothes, I swallowed down my saliva and looked around the room for the door. I felt the need to get out of the room.
Clearly, something happened last night. Obviously, I'm not gonna remember. I sighed and held my head in my hands. "What the hell have you done, Hyein?" I asked myself out loud.
There was a knock on the door. I jerked across the bed from the sudden noise. "C-come in!" I yelled.
Then Xero walked in with a bag of clothes. "I got these from your mother, plus I got your medication." I exhaled in relief. So at least I wasn't in some strangers house.
"Thank you, Xero." I took the giant bag from him and threw it onto the bed next to me.
I sat there awkwardly for a few moments as he stared at me. I looked over to him. "What do you want?" I asked.
He seemed to snap out of a daze. Then he walked over to my bag and opened it. "Your mother told me to make sure you take your medication."
"Psh, I'm not taking that."
He took the bottle out full of tiny pills. "Take it. By the way, this is my bedroom. So don't ask me what I want if I'm standing in here."
I looked down at the strange pattern of the blanket I was holding. I took the bottle from his hands and popped the pill into my mouth. "I'm sorry," I said.
Xero furrowed his brows at me. "Why are you sorry?"
"You had to go to my house and get my shit, then you had to come back home to somebody like me. I feel like I'm a burden," I admitted to him.
He chuckled. "You are, but that's okay."
My mouth dropped open and he smiled at me. "Just get dressed. You have class and then school, right? I'll take you."
I felt uncomfortable with the idea of Xero taking me anywhere. I don't want to be anymore of a "burden" to him. "That's okay, I'll just get a taxi, or have Kidoh take me." He turned around and before closing the door said, "Suit yourself."

I got out a new pair of clothes and carefully put my underwear and bra in between my shirt and pants. Then I scurried out of Xero's room. My eyes searched the open living room. They stopped when they fell on Kidoh.
I walked over to him and tapped his shoulder. "Where's the bathroom again?" I asked him. He smiled and ruffled my hair. "Did you sleep well? I cancelled all the classes for this week. I'm on break."
I tried not to show how nervous I suddenly became because he touched my head. Then I twitched my eye. "Yeah, yeah, where's the bathroom?" I had to leave before he noticed.
"In the far corner over there. Look pretty for me when you get out, okay?" I nodded my head and took his hand off of it. Then I scurried over to the bathroom door.
*****
Before leaving the bathroom, I looked at myself in the mirror.
My hair was up in a ponytail with whispies flying around my head. I didn't take the time to fix it. I looked at my outfit and decided it was good enough to walk around campus.
My bright green sweatshirt from New Jersey and my dark colored jeans made me feel comfortable. The only thing I'm missing are my nikes.
I walked out of the bathroom and saw Kidoh sitting on the couch with Yano. I walked over to them and placed a hand on both of their shoulders. "Kidoh, can you take me to class? I need to ask my professor a few questions," I asked him. He turned around and smiled. "Of course."
I saw Xero come out of his room and heard the jangle of his car keys in his hands. He looked at me and we made eye contact, then he looked away.
I have no idea what's wrong with Xero all the time. He always treats me so coldly. When he finally does something nice, he acts cold again. I just can't understand this kid.
Kidoh suddenly takes my hand and pulls me to the door. I don't pull away from him, but I feel like I should. The touch of his skin is slightly uncomfortable and I don't understand why.
We walk down the fire escape and hop into his car.
In the car, he turns the music down low so it's still on, but barely noticeable.
"Hey, Hyein," he calls out my name and I look at him. "I was wondering if you would like to go on a date with me tonight."
I tense up slightly and my eye twitches. Loss of breath becomes a side effect to his question as well. Then we arrive to our destination, my college campus.
I lick my lips and twitch a few more times in attempt to get all my urges to blink to go away.
Then I turn to him and look him in the eyes. "I would love to go on a date with you tonight, Kidoh." Kidoh's face lights up and I can't help but smile as well.
"I'll see you later then, Hyein." He bows his head and I get out of the car.
I walk a few steps away and turn around. He blows a kiss to me and drives away. A shiver goes up my spine and I can't stop thinking about what I just agreed to.
