Part 35 : Almost there

Skyler's pov

Mine....

No no no...this can't be happening. "I've waited so long" a voice whispered in my ear.

No!

"What the hell are you doing" Jack hissed. The guy let go of me and glared at Jack while still holding my waist.

Now I got a better view of him. His features were soft and his hair was a dark brown colour. He had hazel eyes but they soon turned into an amber shade when he layed his eyes on Jack.

"What do you mean what am I doing this is my mate" He said pointing at me. Jack immediately grabbed hold of me and pulled me to his chest holding me protectively.

"She's mine" Jack spat. The boy growled again but louder. "Axel calm yourself" Gabrielle reasoned.

"Not now mom" Axel said. Gabrielle sighed knowing she could do nothing about it.

"Look I don't know if you had a relationship with her or whatever but she's mine now. The mate pull is too strong for her to resist I suggest you hand her over before-"

"Before you what huh? Listen here pal Skyler belongs to me. I don't give a shxt about your mate pulls and whatever she's mine and mine alone. I'm not sharing her and I'm sure as hell not giving her away either" Jack said. His hold tightening.

Axel growled and took a step closer. "Stop it!" I snapped. "Can we just talk like normal humans please" I rolled my eyes in annoyance.

"Look I'm....I'm really sorry Axel you seem like a really nice guy but I-I already have my prince charming" I tried to reason. Axel looked at me and the only emotion I could see was hurt.

Before I could say anything he left. "Wait Woah where are you going" Jack asked me pulling me back to him. "I have to talk to him Jack" I said.

"I'm coming with" He said and I shook my head. "This is something I have to do on my own" I told him.

He seemed a little hesitant-okay a lot hesitant but he let me go anyway.

I went the way Axel had gone and it brought me to the hall. I followed his scent which I admit is addicting but it could never measure to Jacks one.

I was always told that no one can resist a mate pull. But I guess there's a first time for everything. I knocked on the door and when no one answered I went inside.

Axel was sitting on his bed staring into space. I went and sat beside him. "You know I always loved the fact that somewhere out in the world the Moon goddess made a girl just for me."

"I dreamt about how I would feel every single day. I watched my friends get their mates and fall in love while I still waited for mine."

"Never had I thought that my mate wouldn't want me" He said sadly. I looked at him to find that he was already looking at me. I sighed.

"I'm sorry. I know it's not any good but I feel like I should still say it. Axel I really hope you find love one day and I'm sorry it couldn't be me" I spoke softly.

He cracked a little smile. "It's okay...I just enjoy seeing you happy. Maybe that jerk isn't so bad after all" I smiled at him.

"Skyler can I....can I kiss you?" My eyes widened. "What no I-" He cut me off. "Please Skyler...I just- I wanna know why everyone thinks kissing their mate is different from kissing others" He pleaded.

"I just wanna live the moment I swear it won't be long please" He begged. ARGHHHHHH!

Reluctantly I nodded slowly...

He held my waist and the back of my neck. Then he gently pressed his lips on mine and started moving slowly. I have to admit the sparks felt good but I didn't dare to kiss him back.

He pulled back and smiled. "Thank you Skyler" He said. I smiled. Then he smirked a bit. "I know it was good. Probably not as good as how it is when your bf kisses you but still" He said proudly.

I couldn't help but laugh. "Yeah yeah" I rolled my eyes. He laughed along with me.

"I think I'm ready now" He said. I smiled. "What's your full name?" I asked him.
"Axel Nate Levington" He answered. I nodded.

"I Skyler Julia Roberts reject you Axel Nate Levington as my mate" I said softly. I felt a pain in my chest and then I knew that the mate pull was broken.

Axel smiled sadly at me. I gave him a hug. "You'll find your princess I promise" I said. He smiled.

"I guess you have to go now. King Daniel can't be stalled for a long time" He suggested and I nodded getting up. I kissed his forehead and smiled down at him before leaving.

I returned back to Jack and he immediately came to me. I knew I had to tell him a about the kiss so I did. He didn't take it well but his sympathy overruled his anger.

Jacks pov

"Thank you for the supplies you've been a great help" Mike thanked Gabrielle as we were on our way.

She smiled and nodded. No words were needed.

We parted ways and continued our journey. We are almost done. Almost there.
