The Chase That Lead Him To Me

It was about 11:30 when Louis car pulled up in my driveway, followed closely by the bands van. In Louis’ Aston Martin was him, Charlie and I, which left Zayn, Harry, Niall, Liam, Madi and Courteney in the van. I heard the van door slide open as I unbuckled my seatbelt. I turned to Louis and thanked him for the ride. Throughout the trip we had chatted the whole way. Charlie briefly flowed in and out of our conversation as she laughed hysterically at numerous texts she seemed to be getting. I turned in my seat to face her, and only then did I notice she had fallen asleep. I looked back at Louis and smiled.

‘I thought it had gotten quieter in the car.’ I said glancing back at Charlie. I heard the familiar message tone go off on her phone, and then spotted a light that shone from the floor of the car. She had dropped her phone. I picked it up and looked at her iPhone lock screen.

One New Message: Niall

I smiled to myself and showed Louis. He just grinned.

‘It seems we know what all the giggling was for.’ He whispered, winking at me.

I slid Charlie’s phone back onto her lap and turned towards the door to get out. Louis grabbed my arm and pulled me back. I turned back to face him and before either of us could say anything he had pressed his mouth up to mine and I was caught in a deep, warm kiss.

I couldn’t think straight. Yeah we had kissed before but it was an awkward kiss. This on the other hand… was like a real kiss. Something boyfriends and girlfriends shared. Louis and I weren’t dating though. Who cares! I thought and continued the kiss him back. He pulled back after a second and looked into my eyes. His forehead now rested up against mine.

‘I’ll... um… see you soon then.’ I stuttered, still unable to think straight.

Louis pulled back.

‘Yes, you will.’ Louis said in a low voice.

I turned back to the car door and choked back a scream when I saw someone’s head looking through the window. Niall. How long had he been standing there?

He opened the door for me and I hopped out.

‘Thanks again for the ride, Lou. We’d have literally been stranded had it not been for you boys.’ I said gratefully.

He gave me a military salute and a cheeky grin appeared on his face.

‘If you ever need anything just call me.’ He replied.

I turned to Niall and opened the car door and he effortlessly lifted Charlie out of the back seat. He held her against his chest and bent his head so his forehead was touching hers. I smiled and grabbed her bag and phone from the backseat of the car.

‘They are so cute together!’ I whispered to Louis, in the front seat. He laughed.

I quickly ran to the front door and unlocked it for Niall and he carried Charlie straight up to my room. In the corner of my eye I saw Harry talking to Madi behind the van. They exchanged a quick hug then Harry kissed her cheek and got back into the van. Madi skipped over to me with the biggest smile on her face.

‘Best night ever!!’ She squealed and walked inside.

Courteney followed close behind Madi accompanied by Liam and Zayn. She was laughing hysterically and something they had said. We both gave them a hug good night and then Niall as he returned from inside the house. Niall hopped in Louis’ car and Courteney and I waved as the van and the car pulled out of the driveway.

I closed the door behind me and walked through the house. It seemed that everyone was in bed. I walked past Hayley and mums rooms and found they were asleep. I travelled in the direction of Daniels and found that the lights were still on in his room. I opened the door a little and found him lying on his bed asleep. He’d clearly tried to do the brotherly thing and wait for me to get home. But it was almost midnight and he must’ve fallen asleep. He had headphones over his ears and his phone in his hand. I could hear his music from the doorway. Good one, Daniel. That can’t be good for your ears. I walked over to his bed and turned off his music and removed his headphones. I placed them on his side table and switched the lights off to the room. He’d probably had his music up so loud to keep himself awake. I smiled to myself because that is something Daniel would do. I sighed and walked away from his room back to mine.

Court and Madi were already in their pyjamas ready to sleep and Charlie was still fast asleep on my bed. I quickly got changed and Madi and Courteney both got into their sleeping bags on the floor of my room. I hated that my large bed only fit two people. I rolled Charlie further to her side of the bed and got myself comfortable. I just laid there for a couple of minutes, just remembering the night. By far the BEST night of my life!
