We arrived in japan. My father had many connections with top scientists and was able to continue his research on bio technology under a man named Nobuo Goto who was a scientist that worked for the military. He was a smart and friendly man, however I always felt awkward around him.
We moved into a new house and started our new lives completely forgetting what happed in our old home, or so that's what I convinced my father into believing.
*flash forward 9 years*
Occasionally I would overhear my father talking about the aftermath of the monsters. The US had been completely overrun with them and those who did not evacuate in time perished. I would sneak into my father's study and see his research on the beasts. Most of the data was gibberish to me but I did learn that they reproduced quickly and the only reason they hadn't invaded the rest of the world was because they could not cross the ocean and militaries from around the world were trying their best to eradicate them. Not even an atomic bomb or a shot from our laser satellites had been able to destroy them. I became fascinated with them, so I regularly would read my father's classified data to learn more about them and to figure out where they came from. Sadly no amount of searching brought me that answer.
Massahiro : "Kids! It's time for school!"
Starlene ran down the stairs with her usual happy energy. Her injury from the monster...invasion I'm going to call it... made her forget everything that happed that day. We all just told her that we moved due to dad's work and left it at that.
Starlene: "I hear ya dad, I'm going."
Masahiro : " It's your first day of high school aren't you excited!"
Starlene: "yup! Everything is gonna be awesome!"
John : " Meh it's not all that. You'll get used to it..." John was around 16 at the time. He had grown a lot from his baby self into a calm and collected young man. It seemed that what happened had changed him in a bad way since he wasn't as cheerful anymore...but I think that was just my imagination or maybe it was puberty. (That's him in the picture)
Masahiro: "don't worry about him, he's just a party pooper! Now go or you'll be late"
I watched them go and prepared myself for work. I had decided to follow in my father's footsteps and become a scientist. We went to the same place but I was still in training and I still hadn't picked my division. Dad never told me which one he was in, and when I asked, he said that he didn't want to influence which division I go to.
Our lives were normal and we were happy.
But then it happened again.
The monsters had evolved and the militaries were destroyed. They were spreading to every corner of the earth, destroying everything in their path. It took them 2 days to reach my home again.
I was at home when it happened. It was my day off and my siblings were at school so I was completely by myself. A huge monster crashed through my ceiling and landed only a few feet away from me. I stood there stunned. It was the same monster I saw 9 years ago, the one with the hateful eyes. He had changed only slightly. He was bigger and this time he had wings. Before I could even respond, he grabbed my neck and threw me towards the wall like a rag doll. I felt something snap and fell on the floor. Barely able to breathe I try and call out for help. The monster raised his huge fists about to smash me when he was shot with a laser and his arms were detached. The monster howled in pain, it sounded like a million blades being rubbed together. The monster fled with one huge flap of its wings.
I slowly turned my head and saw my father standing in the door, laser gun in hand. He ran up to me but i was already losing consciousness.
That's all I remember.....
