Phil's POV
When I wake up, I try to piece apart reality from my dream world. Last night, El went to the hospital. Shared a secret. She's anemic. Went home.
My hands brush my lips. I let out a sigh. Dreams can be so close to reality. I didn't kiss Elizabeth. In a way, I guess the dream gave me a second - or first? - chance.
On the other hand, I wish it had been real. I could have released the tiny voice with my secrets for her in my mind. What I want to tell her. What I can't.
I lay my hands in my face, acknowledging the things I don't understand.
El's POV
Last night was a long night. The clock on my iPhone displays "10:52," meaning I've slept in a bit. I can hear the guys outside my door moving my stuff from the car. I want to go help, but something tells me they wouldn't let me. Quickly, I change into my new Rainbow Unicorn sweater. I hope it will reduce the awkward-ity from last night with Phil.
I can still see this fierce determination in his eyes when he had asked me the promise, so I do. A silent promise in my head for him before I leave the room.

At lunch, I offer to make something, but in searching the cabinet, I find about four boxes of cereal, mismatched teas, and random crisps, but nothing I could make them for fresh lunch. So they take me for Sushi.
"I like your sweater," Phil says, wearing his Jake the Dog one.
I face-palm. How did we manage that? We're going to look like a weird cosplay couple. Dan has a nice laugh when he sees it.
"Have you taken your pills?" Dan asks, a mix of caring brother and mocking sibling, referring to my iron supplements. I laugh and nod.
I catch Phil looking me, slightly funnily, a couple of times. They both gave me a little nerve tingle. Other than that, it was a spectacular rebound. Nothing has changed that much.
I decide to pick up my topic of discussion.
"Hey, what would you think about me getting a job?"
