Standing in the great hall, Carly couldn't believe her eyes. Ghosts flying through the walls, the sparkle of a spell down the corridor as she walked towards the staircase. It w as almost too much to take in. She had just learned yesterday that her special ability deemed her worthy of an all expenses paid tuition to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. At first it seemed like a cruel joke, but as Carly thought about it she realized she had no idea who her parents were. They died when she was just two years old, at which time Carly was placed into foster care. She had no real memories of her parents though, so it didn't cause her much sadness. Carly tried her best to smooth the crumpled paper in her hand as she made her way to her new head masters office to be sorted (whatever that meant). Sherbert lemon? Is this a joke? I have to talk to a stone statue in front of random students on my first day? People are going to think I'm insane! Swallowing her pride, Carly opened her mouth to utter the words when the gargoyles came to life, revealing a staircase. A man with black hair and a smug expression stepped down the stairs, as Carly stood gawking with her mouth wide open. Miss Elise I presume? This way. And DO close your mouth. He turned, black cloak snapping behind him as he headed back up the stairs. Carly stood blinking after him for a moment, before snapping her mouth shut and running up the stairs.
