New things take awhile to get used to

The table was dressed to My satisfaction. That night we were having my husband's parents and my parents for dinner, this was not going to be easy because I'm from lower middle where is my new husband is from upper class. Our marriage is full of love and respect however there are times when we have slight disagreement but they are nothing we can't work out.

 My upbringing and Gerald's upbringing was completely different, my parents like to  drink quite heavily. Quite often actually, that was one thing I didn't miss about being at home. 

. As dinner is slowly rolled round, I was beginning to feel more anxious than ever. Gerald told me "Rose dear don't worry everything will be fine."  He paused I knew what he was going to say next so I replied "don't worry ,we'll figure it out it will be on easy but we have to do this I haven't seen them since the wedding"  I was hesitant about dinner many reasons but this was the main one, my parents didn't necessarily like Gerald; I loved him and he love me that is all that matters.  Within a marriage there has to be four main things: love, respect, tolerance  and acceptance for your spouse.

 Dinner was quite eventful. I was very tempted to say something when my father started disrespecting my husband and his family however I somehow managed to maintain my decorum and ignored what ever he was saying because I knew none of it was true. Furthermore, I noticed that the footman Mr Anders was acting very strangely around me. What had I done to him? 

 After dinner, I started feeling unwell ; I simply put it down to the fact that my new ladies maid  did my corset. I was determined not to let feeling ill ruin the rest of the evening unfortunately I collapsed.   In fact I don't really remember much about that night perhaps it was for perhaps it is for the best
