Ebony Winters stutters "N-no that's not true, I-I mean I'm just me! Plus, how do you know that it's me there are thousands of children probably born at the same time as me! Y-you can't be sure that its me!" she starts shaking her head as if trying to convince herself that what she says is right, slowly backing away, until her back hits the wall, still shaking her head.

Adalaide follows her slowly until she stood right in front of her then says softly "You'll just have to take my word that it's you"

Ebony's head snaps up and she growls "What? The word of some vampire? I've read some stories you know; you're murders what makes you think I would trust you?" she spat

As soon as it left her mouth Adalaide was in front of her using her arms to stop her from escaping, her eyes the colour of lava, bright and threatening, her voice a little more than a growl "Some vampire? I am the oldest British vampire, one of the first to ever be turned into such creature. I am more powerful then you could ever imagine, do not make me prove it." Ebony whimpers, hearing the power behind her words and mutters an apology, unsure as to why she did but thought that it wouldn't hurt to do it anyway.

"No worries sweetheart I know it's a lot to take in all at once" Adalaide said sweetly, changing her mood so quickly Ebony practically got whiplash.

Hemmingway dropped her arms. Ebony awkwardly cleared her throat and finally asks a question that had been in her head since Adalaide had told her what the prophecy meant.
"What makes you think that I'll do that? Be a vampire I mean."

"Oh honey, what makes you think I you have a choice in becoming one?"

Ebony thinks this over running it through her mind then replies "I assume that this vampire world means killing people. That's murder, what makes you think I would do that, because I'm fairly certain I have a choice in the matter"

At this Adalaide smirks evilly "Because I've been watching you, especially with those bullies of yours. The way you handled little Billy over there" she nods her head over to the face of Billy mason she had dropped moments earlier. "was very impressive and I could tell you were holding back, why?"

Surprisingly not fazed by the fact she was followed by this whirlwind of a creature Ebony stated, "Because if I hurt him anymore the consequences if I had gotten caught would be much more severe than if I had only roughed him up."

"But you wanted to though did you not? That voice was loud in the back of your head it was shouting at you was it not?" she raises her voice an octave or two "Kill him Winters, Stamp on his face, break his legs, snap his neck" she smiles

Ebony had paled significantly while Adalaide had been talking and in a shaky whisper "H-How do you know about that? N-No one knows about that a-apart from me"

"Vampires can see an extra dimension, let's say. We're able to see people's auras. However, people who suffer with DID, borderline personality, schizophrenia, etcetera their aura appears as somewhat separate from them in the form they take, so if people have a full body separate personality we would see that but if they can only see a mouth or a face then that's all we can see too. Their separate forms match the colour of their aura and we can never hear what their aura forms are saying. However, with you, your aura is this fiery red and connected to you, is this pure black version of you, constantly connected to you, but becoming more connected whenever you get angry and I can hear everything its saying to you."

"It has my voice. This figure you say is connected to me. I think it is me. It scares me, yet excites me because I can feel the power that it has" Ebony lets out a shaky breath then nods, somewhat to herself

"I can help you control it if you'd like Miss Winters. You'll have much more control over this being while being a vampire. I know you've thought about it. Just going out on a rampage and hurting as many people as you can before you're caught. Very Ted Bundy like I must say, met him once, nice man- well aside from the fact that he murdered quite a few people. But then again, who hasn't?"

"You know an awful lot about me. It's impressive Miss Hemingway" Ebony had somewhat turned into this unnatural calm, whether this was from shock, or the fact she was slowly starting to accept what Adalaide was saying, although she would never admit that to her. She did not want to seem weak to the ancient vampire that currently stood in her hallway.

"Please, Adalaide is fine and yes I pride myself on being good at many things, sticking to the shadows is one of them, now on to the matter at hand. Will you do it? Will you lead the vampires to victory?"

"I have one question before I give my answer." said Ebony

Adalaide nodded and encouraged her to carry on

"If you are so old and so powerful, then why have you not done so already? If I am thinking along the same timeline as to how old I assume you are, you possibly came from a time where wars were plenty, over land and resources. You've lived through both World war one and world war two. Giving you the experience to know how to plan and win a war. However, I am a eighteen year old girl who has never had to live through a war which means I have no experience with war. And yet you expect me to lead one. Pardon my bluntness but that's plain stupid." She crossed her arms and tilted her head slightly to the side waiting for Adalaide's response

For a long time, there was silence, Ebony had started to wonder what she had said that might have caused offence to the old vampire when suddenly, the Vampire broke into a genuine smile, one that had not been seen for over a century on the tight lipped, cold and ageless face. "You're right. However, this is why I am here. I was a great General during my time and I will help you forefeel your destiny."

And with that, Adalaide Hemmingway blurred across that gap had been separating Ebony Winters from her and buried her sharp incisors deep within Ebony's blood pumping jugular artery and soon enough the blood pumped no more and as it slowed to a stop, Ebony gradually slipped into darkness. The last thing she saw was her hallway ceiling due to Adalaide's hand forcing her neck to be exposed. her last thought drifted across her head; I was born for this.

She finally dropped off the cliff of living into the inky darkness of death.
