Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
I reach to grab my alarm clock but as I looked at my bedside table, it wasn't there. I could've sworn that I heard ---
I look down and see Drake, my husky puppy, chewing on my maroon alarm clock.
"Drakey! No! Bad doggie!" I say pointing at him. He put it down and started giving me the puppy dog eyes.
"Ugh. Fine. You win this time." I say, not really having a choice. I pull him up on my bed and start playing with him till someone knocked on the door.
"Who is it?" I ask in a monotone voice.
"Miss Trinity. It is Helen. I just want to remind you that it is your first day of school and you only have 30 minutes till you're late." said Helen, one of the housemaids. She treats me like her own and I am closest to her than any of the others. When it's just us, she calls me Trinity but since my Aunt is here she has to call me "Miss".
"Okay. Thank you!" I shout back as I put Drake down. He goes inside his small "room". Yes, my puppy has a small house in my room.
Sigh. It's my first day back in school. Damn. Summer went by so quick. I walk over to my bathroom and start stripping off my clothes. I hop in the shower while humming to Centuries by Fall Out Boy.
I turn the shower off and wrap myself in my maroon bathrobe. (As you can tell, maroon is my favorite color) I walk to my closet and grab a pair of black skinny jeans, a white tank top and my denim jacket with a gray hoodie. I read that the weather today will be quite chilly. I grab my black bag with all my stuff for school inside.
I head downstairs for breakfast and as usual, I'm eating alone. Again. Other kids are probably eating at a table with their parents and siblings, while me? I'm eating at this huge table with nobody but whatever. I got used to it. I've been living like this since I can remember.
I finish my breakfast which was a bowl of corn flakes. I look at my watch and see that it's 7:55. Shit. Holy fucking shit. I'm gonna be late.
I grab my keys and head outside not before I slip on my maroon Vans. I ride a sliver mustang that I got during the summer. I hop in and start the car. I was rushing to school not wanting to be late but since life hates me with all its power, I got stuck in traffic for about 10 minutes. After 5 minutes of that, I finally got to school.
Guess who's late for school? Me.
I hate being late in school. When you enter the room and everybody just stares at you and the whole class gets silent. I seriously just hate being the center of attraction.
I enter my first class, Physics, which is absolutely a pain in the ass. Not only do I hate the subject but also the teacher, Ms. Finnagin.
I enter the room and just like I expected, everyone's eyes are on me. I feel my cheeks turning red.
"Miss Kane. Care to explain why you are late? On the first day?" she says, putting her hands on her hips while giving me a furious look.
"I...uhmm...I got.." I was trying to explain or stuttering and Ms. Finnagin was motioning me to continue.
"Ms. Finnagin, I think cat got her tongue." said Natalie, the queen bee of our school. The whole class was laughing and my cheeks were turning darker and darker.
"Loser." coughed Liam, the quarterback. Expect them to make fun of students. The whole class erupted in laughter and some was even close to crying.
"Class, I will not tolerate that kind of behaviour in my class." she says making everyone shut up. "Ms. Kane, I will let this slide but only for today. This will be the last time you will be tardy for my class." I just nod and head in the second to the last row.
I was about to sit when my chair was pulled back making me fall butt first.
"Oh. My apologies Trinity." said Jacob while laughing, clearly not meaning his sorry. He highfived with Liam and started talking about hooking up with chicks.
Welcome to my life.
