"why didn't you tell me about...her, john?" george spoke; his voice soft but firm.
"i wanted to keep it to myself, because telling you would result in what's happening right now." john replied, his voice distant.john looked away from the younger man, he swallowed thickly, guilt shone in his eyes as he wrung his hands—his face expressing all the words he wants to say, but can't.
dark brown eyes stared him down patiently waiting for an answer, now george wasn't that stupid he knew about john and...yoko initially he thought they were just 'friends' he knew john wouldn't cheat on him.
right?
he was wrong—so wrong. he wished he hadn't been so naive before, he should've seen the signs.
the way john looked at yoko, the way he spoke to her, how he'd leave in the middle of recording sessions with her, leaving paul, ringo and himself to pick up the unfinished work.
george's stomach pooled with dread and uneasiness when he thought of paul.
paul tried desperately to hold the walls of what the band once had.
in his desperate state he turned to barking at everyone even if they didn't deserve it.
whenever tension would reach a breaking point it left only george and paul. george would try to mend the broken relationship between them, the outcome would leave the younger man in tears and he would have john or ringo as a source of comfort.
but now, he didn't have john, he was with yoko. the brunet would have to comfort himself.
he eyed john intently, waiting for his reason on why he would do this to him, why now?
well he'd to wait for that answer.
"why, john?" was all he could muster, his voice daring to break.
"i...i don't know, believe me george i didn't want this to happen." he murmured as he cupped george's cheek, and pulled the younger man closer.
george wanted to pull away—he just couldn't...he didn't want too.
george buried his face into the crock of john's neck; "...i'm sorry, geo." john spoke, his voice breaking.
the younger man shouldn't accept his apology, after all they've been through.
george played with the sliver ring around his finger—a memory resurfaced, one that the younger man buried after the stress of holding the band together become overwhelming.

1962
"george~!" john sang as he entered the recording studio (having arrived early.) the auburn haired man expected to see his boyfriend sitting about, strumming guitar chords—and luckily for john, he was. john tapped him on the shoulder startling the younger man.
"j-johnny!" he whined—john chuckled softly, and kissed him as an apology. he pulled out a small box from his pocket.the guitarist took a deep breath to calm his nerves, he wouldn't admit it...but his heart was pounding out of his chest "george." he spoke, his voice cracking—he mentally kicked himself for his voice crack.
'come on, you can do this—it's just george!' he tried reassuring himself as he spoke "i thought you might like this, yeh know as a gift..." he mumbled as he opened up the box—revealing a silver ring.george stared at the ring then back at john, his mouth opened but quickly closed, he repeated the action out of pure shock. 'is this some sort of engagement ring? well he did say this is a gift...that isn't solid evidence,' george thought (a bit dumbly if he might add.) as he stood up and faced john.
after thinking for a moment, he cried out "i love it!" he hugged his bandmate tightly, john immediately returned the hug—after a minute or so george pulled away as john slipped on the ring.
john pulled him into a deep kiss, after what seemed like an entirety for the two, george pulled away and laughed breathlessly.
"thank you, johnny."————
george smiled sadly at the memory, he wanted to relive it over and over and over again. but the present kicked in for the young man. at that moment george felt like throwing the ring at john he wanted to yell at him to piss off; he just couldn't.
no matter how much they've been through.
he still loved him.
john pulled in the younger man into a kiss—george wanted to pull away, he wanted to just scream at john, he wanted to do something—anything.
all he could do was just kiss back; with the same passion that was burning for all these years.
in a nearby corner; paul and ringo watched the scene unfold, "jesus." paul whispered to himself, ringo nodded in agreement "let's hope yoko doesn't crash the party." paul joked dryly, ringo couldn't help but snicker quietly.
as if on cue, the doors to the studio opened.
a woman stepped in.
it was yoko.
"spoke too soon, mccartney." ringo whispered.
the asian woman froze as she saw john and george "john?" she croaked as she stood there almost paralyzed.
john immediately pulled away.
"yoko." he breathed.
