“What?” I stared at Logan shocked, “Why are you leaving?” I had just put on my pajamas and now I was in the living room again with Kara and my dad standing off to the side while Logan waved goodbye. “Come back here!” I spit and he stopped frozen in place, “I thought you were staying the night here.”

“I think it’s smarter if I leave.” He whispered. Oh he was such a bad liar, “I’ll see you, just you know, call me if you need something.”

“You promised you’d stay.” I whispered ready to cry and I saw his calm face slip. His eyes betrayed him, “You promised.” I whispered, “Logan.” I reached for him but my dad stepped up. Damn it. I knew he was an asshole. He almost had me fooled.

“What did you do?” I spit at him focusing my attention on him, “What did you say to him?” I hissed.

“Nothing!” My dad cried, blowing his cover. I glared at him.

“Logan, I’m staying at your dorm.” I whispered silently and Logan’s face went into panic. He was obviously trying to please my dad. “I don’t care what he thinks. Tonight I’m staying at your dorm.”

“The hell you are.” My dad growled.

“Next time don’t scare the shit out of Logan.” I spit back.

“Next time? You plan on being a teen parent twice? Well at least it’s promising that you plan on it still being Logan’s.” I turned to him and glared, “Casey.” He stated firmly.

“Look, you made a mistake. This is big for me and I need time to adjust.” I told him and it was honest. I knew my mom wasn’t coming around. My dad wouldn’t have driven all the way in one night if he didn’t think she was sticking to it. “It’s not like things can possibly get any worse right?” I whispered. “And I’m tired as hell, I’ll probably sleep in Hale’s room. Just give me this one night.”

“Casey, I can’t. You’re seventeen. He’s Twenty-two!”

“Just once, trust me.” I begged. I was so sick of this, “I need to talk to him privately and I don’t think we can do that here anyways.” It was true. I didn’t want to talk to him, but it had to be done. I knew he wanted to talk, I could feel it all over him. He needed to talk.

“Trust you? We haven’t spoken since you were in sixth grade. Now you’re seventeen, and pregnant.” He sighed staring at me, “Where am I supposed to pull this trust from?”

“Well, think of it this way, your bad decision tore us apart and my bad decision brought me back into your life. You made a mistake, you’ve made plenty of mistakes, but you learned from them right?”

“I wasn’t seventeen.” He stated.

“You were when mom got pregnant with Hale.” I whispered. “Did you and mom have to talk then?”

He sighed, “We were on our own.”

“Well then we can be on our own too.” I spit, “I’ll grab my things and be out of your hair.”

“Times have changed and theirs a difference!” He shouted at me, “Our parents were too ashamed of us. They wanted us to either have your mom go to a boarding school for pregnant girls, have the baby and give it up or have an abortion. That was  her parents option. She ran away to me because either way her parents wouldn’t let her see me again. My parents just plain old kicked me out, they didn’t want anything to do with any of it. I am here and I am willing to help. Do you know what I would have given to have my parents willing to help?” He was stressing out, “Kara and I, we want to help.”

“Okay.” I whispered, “But what are you doing pushing Logan away from me?” I stared at him, “I don’t want him running away.”

“I told him he’s not allowed to touch you.” My dad stated with a proud smirk, “The kid’s just listening to me because I threatened to send you away to boarding school if he did.” I stared at him in shock, “Stupid mistakes call for stupid punishments.” He told me.
