chapter one: suspension

jeno pov

"LEE JENO, YOU GOT SUSPENDED AGAIN?" said my mom. i did, but this time it wasn't my fault. but what was the damn point of telling her when she would never believe me, no matter what i said unless it was a big lie. she doesn't trust me, but honestly i don't blame her.

"yes mom i did-" "WHAT DID WE DO WRONG WITH YOU" she cut me off, letting me know how messed up i was. in a way, she was right. i skip class, i get suspended, i've been arrested twice and i've stolen. i don't know why so i think thats proof that i'm kinda messed up in the head.

"mom i'm sorry" i said with truth deep down in my heart. "bullshit, you wouldn't be in this mess if you were" she said more calmly than the other words that came out of her mouth. but they hurt the most. she couldn't even see that i was being sincere, i really did fuck up.

ONE DAY LATER

"boy i don't know what to do with you. if i leave you home alone then you're gonna get yourself into shit" she stated

"mom, just trust me i wont mess it up" "jeno, i wish i could trust you, but i don't. i guess you'll just come to work with me" "please no" "this is non negotiable"

she worked at the worst place ever. the damn hospital. she was a doctor. well it's not the worst place ever, its just it's depressing as fuck and the people there are annoying and sad. ugh. why couldn't she just work at like somewhere fun. LIKE A WATER PARK. nah, that's a stretch.

"LEE JENO ARE YOU FUCKING DEAF" "whAt?!" i said snapping myself out of my own thoughts. "i said get in the car," so i did. i got into the car.

ONE DRIVE TO THE HOSPITAL LATER.

i was just chilling with my mom, cause she doesn't work til, 5 minutes and i didn't know what i was gonna do. she took my phone away and lets be real, im not a goddamn doctor. im gonna be so fucking bored oh my god. fuck my lifeee.

"there is a woman going into labor and she has nobody, just get her some ice chips. here's ten dollars, you can get yourself something too. dont cause too much mischeif and bring them to room 904" it was a lot of information to process, but i took the money and nodded.

i was in the elevator and it was so awkward. there was no goddamn music or nothing. until it stopped..

of course it stopped, and not just for awhile. we were stuck. me and this other teenage boy. he seemed stuck up but he seemed nice at least. maybe the only decent person i'll meet this year, the only one with a soul.

"WHAT THE FUCK STUPID ELEVATOR" he yelled. i was kind of taking back my earlier thoughts until. "sorry, i just get really stressed out sometimes. anyways what brings you here" he asked "well the elevator? i mean like i needed to go down a floor" he chuckled "thats not really what i meant but okay." "oh im dumb sorry. im here with my mom cause she works here. what about you?" "my and my step-brother are here, my step mom isn't doing too well. or his real mom i guess" "well i'm sorry" i said, even though my mom and i don't get along that well, i can't imagine my life without her.

"its okay, its not your fault. but thanks" he said

"my names jeno by the way" i said. "im renjun. nice to meet you."

RING RING RING RING

his phone rang and picked up just a few moments after. i only heard one side of the conversation.

renjun pov

r: "hello nana"
n: "junniieeeee"
r: "what is it"
n: "while you're downstairs can you get me fooood. im hungry"
r: "you're a fatass"
n: " i know, just get me food"
r: "im stuck in an elevator"
n: "are you alone"
r: "no... why?"
n: "put me on the phone with them"
r: "why-"
n: "just do it"
n: "hello"
r: "it's still me"
n: "why is it still you, put the other person on"

"my brother wants to talk to you" i said rolling his eyes. "why, do i know him" "i dont know but here." i said giving him the phone

jeno pov

n: "hellooooooooo"
j: "hi?"
n: "tell my brother to buy me food"
j: "is that all you want😂"
n: "yes, now do it before i beat you with a loaf of bread"
j: "jHeez ok"
n: "bye babh"
j: "um bye"

"he wants you to buy him food" "thats all" he asked. "yes. he's a stubborn one isn't he" "the most stubborn, but i love him"

the elevator doors opened and we both walked out.

"nice to meet you renjun" "nice to meet you to
jenooo" he said, as we walked separate directions.
