Izuku wasn't sure when the pain started, but he sure as hell noticed when he sat down on his chair to eat dinner. He ignored the ache in his legs at first, blaming it on the relentless training Aizawa-sensei had put them through earlier that day, but the ache got worse and worse, spreading throughout his body like poison as the ache turned into a searing burning feeling which could probably upstage Dabi's fire.

The boy jolted up from the table, ignoring the strange looks he got as he bolted to his dorm to figure out what was wrong with him. He caught a glimpse of his friends' worried faces, as well as Katsuki's that was giving very little away, well, trying to give little away, the ash-blonde's eyes were littered with concern.

Izuku ignored the slight warmth in his heart and concentrated on running and everything else but the burning that was getting worse by the second.

"Shit," Izuku swore quietly, making sure his voice was quiet enough to be inaudible, managing to forget about Jiro's Quirk in his panic, "why do I hurt so much?" The boy turned the corner and ran up the stairs, not wanting to have to stay still for too long. He tripped a couple of times but caught himself, not ready to sign his contract with Death just yet.

He stumbled determinedly into his room before collapsing roughly onto the ground, opening his mouth to let out a shriek of agony as the pain tripled, only to find that he'd lost the ability to mouth words, and his throat was parched dry.

Izuku saw black spots dancing around his vision tauntingly while he struggled to move as he knocked over his desk chair. When he turned around he realized he hadn't heard the chair fall or the crash that would've accompanied it. Oddly content, sitting immobilized on the floor, he allowed himself to slip into the welcoming world of unconsciousness.

Jiro had panicked when she overheard the green-haired boy swear, and she knew that meant whatever situation he was in wasn't a good one.

Jiro cared for Izuku like the big brother she never had, and it tore her down the middle when she heard that he was wondering why he hurt so much. Unfortunately, she didn't know either but was still eager to help, so she slid past the rest of her worried friends and headed to Izuku's room.

She knocked lightly on the door and immediately thought the worst when she didn't get a response. She started panicking before thinking back to Aizawa-sensei's rants.

"A hero must remain calm and vigilant at all times, no matter how stressful the situation, you will only make it worse if your thoughts are clouded."

'Right,' Jiro reminded herself as she placed her hand on the door handle, 'calm and vigilant.'

Jiro opened the door cautiously, looking around the All Might themed room a bit before her eyes landed on the boy she had grown to care deeply for. Her eyes widened as she noticed Izuku laying on the floor and quickly ran over to the boy's side, immediately checking the immobile student's pulse and temperature.

She was relieved when she found that both were normal, but a new confusion washed away that relief as she gently picked Izuku up and placed him on his All Might themed bed, then picking up the seat from the floor and making herself comfortable next to the boy. She would need quite the explanation tomorrow for this, but hey, that's future-Jiro's problem.

Jiro thought the situation over and over and over again but just couldn't think of an explanation. All of the logical possibilities end with a dead-end, and the more information she discovered, the less it seemed to make sense.

Jiro could faintly remember the day she got her Quirk, it literally happened overnight. Her earlobes were throbbing in the morning as if they'd been squashed by a truck of elephants. Izuku's face was scrunched up in such pain it looked like he had been run over with a truck of elephants.

Even after making the connection she still couldn't figure out what it was, there was no logical explanation and the most likely illogical reason was that he somehow was getting another Quirk, but Jiro hadn't heard of receiving two Quirk's before, so she got out her phone and looked up 'Is it possible to get a second Quirk?' in the search engine.

Surprisingly, there were a lot of results, but none of them said anything about getting a second Quirk naturally, but there was one document that caught her eye.

"Quirk Often Associated With A Quirkless Person, Called 'Control'."

Jiro clicked the link and read everything she could, so engrossed in her research she hadn't noticed Izuku start to stir. The green-haired boy propped himself up on his elbows as he looked around, eventually laying his eyes on Jiro.

"J-Jiro-chan!" Izuku exclaims as Jiro looks at the boy sitting tiredly in his bed. "W-what are you doing here?"

"Ah, I heard you swear when you ran here and came to on you, because you don't swear - to be honest that's the first time I heard you swear - and I figured it wasn't good," Jiro rushed, taking a quick breath before continuing, "and then when I got here you were sitting out cold on the floor. You seem fine though."

"Oh, now I remember. Thank you, Jiro-chan." Izuku thanked tiredly.

"Could you tell me what happened?" Jiro asked politely, her earphone jacks floating as she tried to pick up anything else that was happening around her.

"Well, I'm not sure when it started, but I've been sore all day, and when I sat down it got worse so I came up here and collapsed, then I passed out," Izuku explained. Izuku tried to get up but Jiro pushed him back down onto his bed gently.

"No, Midoriya-kun, you stay here, it's late," Jiro said sternly as the boy relaxed back into his bed. "Does your body still hurt?"

"Uh, no, not anymore. Thank you again, Shimai*," Izuku said happily, not realizing his slip-up.
(*Shimai or '姉妹' means sister in Japanese.)

"M-Midoriya!?" Jiro exclaimed, incredibly flustered.

"O-Oh! Did I say that out loud? Sorry Jiro-chan, I just think you are a really good person and I see you as a sister and I just made you feel awkward I'm sor-," Izuku muttered worriedly as Jiro calmed her burning face and cut him off.

"It's all right, I don't really mind, Onii-chan**," Jiro said nervously as she looked at Izuku's calculating expression. Both of the students froze for a second before Izuku beamed brightly at the girl. Jiro returned it with a bright smile of her own.
(**Onii-chan or 'お兄ちゃん' is an endearing way to say, 'big brother', with a more feminine sort of sound.)

Jiro left Izuku's room contently, a grin glued to her face as if nothing could get rid of it. Unfortunately, good things can't last forever, and Jiro's smile was wiped off of her face when she heard an almost silent agonized yell coming from her stand-in brother's room.

How was that for chapter 1? Yes, I love anime, no, I won't deny I'm a weeb, yes, I will try to find inspiration for my other books, no, I am not a very skilled writer.
