Oh God. I feel so embarrassed right now, I bet my cheeks are flushed purely pink right now. I feel so bad...
"So, you think I'm the whole school?" Tim says, a smirk pulled across his face.
"No! That's not what I'm trying to say! The point is, I just want to know why you are always watching me. It kinda freaks me out." I hear a small chuckle escape his throat.
"Why, I apologize for "freaking" you out. I just find you very... Intriguing."
I think I forgot how to breathe.
"Intriguing? Should I take that as a compliment?" I say, probably smiling like a dork at the moment.
"Do you like to draw?" Tim asks, glancing at my paper.
"Yeah, I do actually." I say, going back to work on a fox I was drawing earlier in Homeroom.
"You're very good at it, I'll say!" He exclaims.
"Gee, thanks. That's not the only time some dude has told me that before." I snort at him, regretting saying that.
"Why? Do you think I'm hitting on you?" Tim says, as I look up at him. There is a silence between us, and he just to looks into my bright hazel eyes.
"Of course not! Why would I think that? This is only my first day!" I quietly yell at him, that's not what I meant at all. Frustrated, I start to draw again and I swear to God, I could feel him smiling at me. Before I know it, the bell rings and everyone shuffles outside and heads to the cafeteria. I follow the big crowd and get smushed in the middle, to my luck. It's really tight and gross, and I feel bad for all the other kids who have been in my shoes before I came here. I feel someone grab my wrist and swiftly pull me out of the crowded group of kids. And of course it was my knight in shining armor.
"You looked like you weren't enjoying that back there." Tim says, walking with me to lunch. "I guess it wasn't like that back at your old school?"
"Not even close! I went to a private school, so there weren't exactly a lot of kids in the hallways." I said, leaning a little far from him. And I guess he noticed how I was avoiding him physically.
"What's wrong? Do I have cooties?" He smiled at me, and I couldn't help but laugh. He had a very good sense of humor. I leaned a little closer to him, but not too close to make it all awkward and stuff.
As we entered the cafeteria, I could tell it was really crowded, and I mean really crowded. I passed Maddy's table, she sits next to a bunch of other girls and was from I could tell, laughing really hard. I looked around and saw one table that was completely empty. As soon as we reached that table, Tim pulls out a chair for me to sit in, and I sit, nodding my head as a thank you. He sits across from me and puts his face in his hands. I wanted to ask what was wrong, but I didn't.
"I'm gonna get lunch, are you gonna get anything?" I asked, standing up.
"I'm fine, I usually don't eat the food here anyways." Tim says as he looks up at me.
I shrug and walk off to the lunch line and grab a tray. I wonder from Tim's perspective, if the food here is gross. I didn't really care though, I was too hungry to think about that. I grab a pepperoni pizza, and apple, some milk, and a cookie with white chocolate. I walk back to Tim's table and sit across from him, looking down at my tray. I picked up the pizza and started to slowly bite into it. The pizza wasn't so bad here! Then why doesn't Tim like the food they serve? That's something I want to find out. I take a few more bites of the pizza and set it down back on my plate, looking at Tim.
"I was just wondering, why don't you like the food here?" I asked quietly.
"It's not exactly my kind of taste for "food"." He responded quickly, as if he didn't want to talk about it.
"Sorry, I was just curious..."
"Like the saying goes, curiosity kills the cat." Tim said, with a light smirk upon his pink lips. Well, curiosity is killing the Bella cat! I start to eat my pizza again and as I finish it, I start to eat my apple.
"An apple a day keeps the doctor away." Tim says, watching me eat. I'll admit it, it's pretty creepy that he's watching me eat, but I honestly don't care. I smile after swallowing the first bite, and continue on eating my lunch.
"The cookie always crumbles." He says, smiling wider as I can see his glowing white teeth.
"What's up with you and all these quotes?"
"What, you don't think I read?"
"I was never saying you didn't, I was just saying that I wanted to know why you're obsessed over quotes."
"Now who said anything about being obsessed?"
"Um, I did."
"Of course, Bella, my dear new friend." Tim places his feet on the table and leans back, putting his arms behind his head and closes his eyes. "Friend? That's better than not even talking to him as a complete stranger, sorta." I leave to throw away my trash and as soon as I come back, I find the table I was just sitting at was now empty once again. "He probably went to the bathroom or something." I thought as I looked around and found everyone else throwing away their trash. Then the bell rings, and I grab my binder and such and leave the cafeteria to go to Tech. class.
