(A.N: Once again, I was too lazy to write anything about school this time, so let's just time skip to the end of school. :3)
It was finally the end of the day, and I was really tired, but I still had to walk home. Ugh. As I left my locker, I passed by Tim, not making eye contact. I exit the school and find the road that leads to my Aunt Kate's house. I start to jog down the road and something stops me. From a distance, I could see someone running into the forest, and they were fast. I decided to follow them to see where they were gonna go. I pushed myself to the limit and tried to catch up to the mysterious running figure. Then, I lost them. I looked around franticly for any sign of where this person could've gone. Just then, I see a little cottage far away from where I was, but I could see it. I begin running again, towards the little house.
After a few minutes of running full speed, I finally reach house. I knock on the door lightly, while I'm trying to not hyperventilate. The door slowly opens, and I hear a girl's voice.
"What do you want?"
"I saw you running in the forest, and I just wanted to make sure you were all right." I said, my voice quivering from losing my breath.
"Come on inside." Okay, I know I'm not suppose to go into a stranger's house, but this presence felt calming. I stepped into the house, and the first thing I smelled was mint. And, it was pretty dark, and I didn't know where I was going.
"Sorry, I should probably turn in the lights!" The female said, and suddenly everything was bright. I noticed the girl calmly walking to a red velvet couch nearby. She looked about my age, had icy blue eyes, long brown hair with blond tips, lightly tanned skin, and she was wearing a pink and aqua blue sweater with white patterns all over, with some black uggs. I shuffled to a red velvet chair and sat down, a little uncomfortable.
"How rude am I? My name is Kat Frost." That explains the eyes and the minty smell.
"Nice to meet you Kat, my name is Bella Summers." I grinned. Kat smiles back at me and stands up.
"Would you like some hot chocolate?"
"Uh, sure. Thanks." I respond. Now that I think of it, it is all little chilly in here...
"Okie, I'll be right back." And then Kat disappears around a corner. I look around the living room and notice a sculpture of what seems like a watermelon. I stand up and stalk over to the sculpture. It was beautiful, but it needed to be painted. I stared at it for a few minutes, admiring the art.
"I haven't exactly finished it yet." Says Kat, totally startling me.
"You scared me!" I say, and giggle little. Kat giggles too.
"Sorry, I happen to do that to everyone." She says in a quiet manner.
"No, it fine. I was just caught off guard."
"Well, here." She walks over to me and hands me a pink and lime green mug with black dots all over. I can just smell the chocolate, and that even warms me up.
"So, I'm guessing you go to Foxville High?" Kat says, looking at her marvelous creation.
"Yeah, I'm new. I moved from New York." I explained, heading back to the velvet chair. Kat followed me and sat on the couch, sipping her hot coco. "Do you go to Foxville?"
"No, I'm home schooled by my mom." She replied, looking down at her steaming drink.
"Oh, sorry I asked..."
"No, it's okie!" Kat looked up and smiled. Why does everyone in this town have such white teeth?!
"How long have you lived here?" I asked, taking a sip of my drink.
"All my life, really."
"Cool. Are there, like, any stories you guys tell newcomers like from those movies?" I asked Kat, looking at her.
"Well, there is one legend the we have here in Foxville..."
"Can I hear it?" I asked innocently.
"Of course! There's nothing better to do anyways." I sat in a comfortable position and listen to Kat's tale.
"You know how Massachusetts is famous for Witch Trails?"
"Yeah."
"Well, that's not the only thing that has been happening around here. Long ago, it was to be said that there were also Vampire and Werewolf trails too. My great, great, great, great, great grandfather Dommy was a vampire hunter. The reason why he hunted vampires was because first of all, he was part werewolf, and two, a vampire killed his wife. The mayor of Foxville back then was Dommy's brother, so he knew that Dommy was part werewolf. But the weird part is, the mayor however was not part werewolf. But long story short, there are still vampires and werewolves around here, and the only kinds of vampires we have are the ones that feast on animals, and the ones that live off of blood pouches."
All I could say was wow. I never even knew that vampires and werewolves were even real. "So, does that make you part werewolf?"
"Once again, it's weird because the "curse" didn't fall on me, so your answer is no."
I try to take another sip of my drink, but I notice it's all gone. "Wow, I must've been really thirsty!" I laughed.
"I could never drink anything that fast!" Kat exclaimed.
I dig into the pocket of my shorts and look at the time. It was already 2:05 pm.
"Thanks for having me over, but I got to go." I said, shoving my phone back in my pocket and sling my backpack over my shoulder. I hand Kat the empty mug and give her a friendly hug. "Hopefully we'll see each other someday!" I said as I open the door.
"Bye Bella, have a nice afternoon!" Kat's says waving.
I shut the door behind me and I start to make my way back to Aunt Kate's house.
