Ch4. Chosen Mate

Erins Pov.

I woke up to the sound of rain pounding on my window. My eyes still heavy began to open when they spotted a figure in the corner of the room.

A shadow loomed over me as I slowly sat up in bed. A voice was heard in the quietist of mummers. But then grew loud when it realized it seemed to not reach me. My eyes met the figure just as it started snapping in my face.

"Erin!" they hollered, making no effort to keep their voice in the walls of my room. My attention came back to me suddenly as he kept going. There in front of me was my beta. "Ezer?" I mumbled my voice still held sleep in its tone.

"You are a dumbass Erin. He's right nest door and you chose tonight to wear my shirt!" Ezer exclaimed. "He probably thinks we were lovers Erin." He sputtered the last part out softly.

"I know"

"What do you mean you know?" He muttered.

"I spoke to him last night.." I trialed off

"He thinks you are my chosen." I spat. This Alpha had no right to speak to me the way he did and today was the day I taught him that.

"He what? Erin you know that means he will try to kill me right" Ezer shook with fear.

I didn't understand why he did though. This Alpha had no power here Ezer had nothing to fear.

"Ezer, you have nothing to worry about I don't plan on accepting him as my mate. Now go away I need a shower." I said calmly trying to get him to calm down.

He just shook his head as he got up to leave.

After stepping out of the shower I changed into a pair of lose fitting jeans and a black t-shirt. Quickly I blow dried my hair and threw into a pony tail before I exited my room.

As I made my way towards the pack house kitchen I got a whiff of mint.

Fuck I mentally groaned.

As I entered the room all eyes snapped to me. The elders stood near the Alpha their backs slightly facing me as they turned their heads in my direction.

A growl came from deep in my throat. I thought this guy got the message last night that I don't want him. Looks like I need to make this clear once and for all.

"Alpha Ryker, I had assumed you would have left by now with the other Alphas. You must have a long way home." I said sternly glaring at him.

He showed no emotion as I spoke to him. His eyes fixed on mine.

"Erin dear Alpha Ryker is home is he not?"

My eyes narrowed at the elder who spoke. How dare she address me as anything but Alpha.

Before anyone could react to this clear sign of disrespect, my hands were around her throat. A gasp came from the pack members in the room. "What did you just say?" I growled at her my grip tightening around her throat. "Al...Alpha Erin..." She gasped for air as I dropped her to the ground. My eyes were blazing red, my wolf compelling me to make an Example of her. "Beta Ezer, take this women to the cages. 24 hours." I spoke my gaze leaving hers and finding Ezer right behind me. His eyes were icy blue..his wolf. He grabbed the elder and began to take her down.

"Beta?" I heard a small laugh. "So this is the pup you chose over me?" I growled and found the source of my annoyance. His eyes were bright gold. A small gasp came from my elders.

"Alpha you choose Beta Ezer as your mate?" One of them spoke. I glared at him then back to the Alpha, two could play this game.

"Beta Ezer and I have been mated a long while." A smirk appeared on my face. Ezer stoped dead in his tracks, quickly turning to me with a horrified expression on his face.

A growl came from the Alpha as be began to shift. My eyes widened at this sight as I too started to shift.

Soon our wolves were standing face to face. His wolf was a dark grey with gold eyes, his frame towered slightly above mine by a few inches.

I mind linked Ezer "I'm sorry, go, ill clear this up."

I didn't have to say it twice as a Ezer took off with the elder in tow.

My eyes snapped back to the Alpha. Who had begun to shift back to his skin.

He stood there tall and proud and well naked. A person from behind him, whom I had never seen gave him a sheet to cover himself, as unmated wolves were not supposed to be seen in such a way by other wolves.

My Gamma Sara draped a cloak over me before I shifted.

I wrapped the cloth tightly around me making sure my body was covered from his eyes.

"My office... Now Alpha Ryker." I spoke with my Alpha voice causing the pack members to shutter.

With that I headed down the hall, the Alphas vision burning into my back as he followed. I entered the office with him not far behind.

Before I even turned around the door slammed shut and the faint sound of the lock clicking could be heard.

"Alright Mate."
