In a land not so far away from where you are right now, there live a frustrated writer who wants to create a great story that will change the lives of people who are under the spell of depression and bitterness; a story that will move someone's heart, that it will be dislocated because it will be literally moved. It is a story that will cure the disease that spreads intensive sadness to someone's body that prevents the circulation of the balance of emotion which includes happiness --- the happiness that a person needs to survive the adversities and sufferings provided by the most complicated thing in the world called life. And you are now reading the aforementioned story; there is no turning back, just turning of pages (or just keep on scrolling down).
This unknown frustrated writer starts the story with Esmeralda; Esmie for short. She is the most fortunate and unfortunate person in the world. She lost her mother the day she was born. She didn't even had the chance to experience what it feels like to have a mother because his father did not marry another woman, because he was so deeply in love with his deceased wife. Esmie grew up without a mother, but her grandmother took care of her until she turned into a woman. Her grandmother passed away on the day she was about to graduate in college. She died because of over happiness; she got too much excited that caused a sudden heart attack. She swooned to death the moment Esmie stepped on the stage. The happy day that was supposed to be one of the happiest moments in Esmie's life turned into a nightmare.
Every time she closes her eyes, she sees her grandmother lying lifeless on the cold marble floor, surrounded by people wearing black gowns holding their diplomas. That nightmare lasted for a month. She gradually recovered and diverted her attention on finding a job. Luckily, she was hired as an assistant in an eminent company, and the prestigious CEO of that company; Miguelito Chua --- the handsome British-Chinese hunk businessman fell in love with her.
Migs was smitten by her charm. Esmie is one of the most beautiful women in the world; she's like a goddess in a mysterious mountain. Her aura is different from other women. Her white porcelain-like skin glows whenever it was hit by a ray or even just a streak of sunlight. She has an angelic face; her eyes spark like stars in the middle of the night. Her lips are so red that she doesn't have to wear a lipstick. Her smile can turn a bad day into a bright one. Her long hair is like a river that flows endlessly; so smooth and so soft. That's why companies of different shampoo products are willing to pay a million pesos just to get her as their endorser. But she always refuses because she's afraid of camera and spotlight.
She was even offered by famous producers of movies in Hollywood to play the roles like Bella Swan in Twighlight Saga and Katniss Everdeen in Hunger Games Trilogy; she also became one of the choices in playing the role of Monica in the Legal Wife, but then again she refused, that's why Angel Locsin got the role. Esmie is almost perfect. The only problem is her nose; it is kind of flat, but not that flat. Its flatness is kind of attractive, unlike others whose faces look awkward with that kind of nose.
Esmie's father was very happy and supportive with the love life of his daughter. He got along really well with Migs. They were like father and son. They do things that only men can enjoy and understand. There were times when Esmie felt out of place because she could not relate on what they are talking about. She even joked that Migs and her father should get married because of their closeness that sometimes they forgot about Esmie when they are playing golf or mahjong.
On the first anniversary of Esmie and Migs being a couple, Esmie's father died. While the lovers were celebrating their first year of fruitful love, Esmie's father was being robbed and murdered. His body was found in the creek near the casino where he usually plays mahjong. The suspect was a friend of Esmie's father. It was very painful for Esmie because he was her only family. Migs promised in front of the grave of Esmie's father that he won't leave her, he'll do everything to make his daughter happy and he will love her forever.
