Falling In Love With A Bad Boy

Chapter 3

As soon as we got up, Jane left to go home.   Her grandparents were going to be at her house soon.  

I got dressed in my comfy oversized tee shirt and leggings and headed down to the kitchen to help mom.  She always seems to be the only one cooking for the holidays, so I try to give her a hand.  She sets me to the rask of peeling potatoes, snapping green beans and cutting mushrooms.    We ralk and laugh the whole time.

A few times dad or Chase would come in for drinks and steal pieces of food.  Mom would smack dad on the hand playfully.   I love seeing how much they are in love and dream of finding that for myself.

Dinner was almost complete when the doorbell rang.  I run straight to it, knowing it was grandpa Harry.  I love him so much,  and I am his baby girl. 

"There's  my baby girl!  Oh my look at how much you grew. "  Grandpa beams with a huge grin and kisses my head.

"I missed you papa.  How was the drive?"

"Not bad, just glad to be here.  I am starved! Where is dinner?" Grnadpa asked.

"Almost done dad.   Do you want a piece of pie?"  Mom asked.

Mom and papa walk into the kitchen, I made my way to the living room.  Dad, Chase and Travis were watching The Matrix.  I plopped down on the couch next to dad and snuggled in.  Chase and his friend were on the loveseat engrossed in the movie.

Soon mom hollered for me.  I help set the table, and the guys walk into sit.  Dinner was pleasant, with alot of chatter and laughing.  I love having my family around.  

I notice that Travis is quiet and just eating across from me. 

"So, where are you from?" I ask as I take a bite of potatoes.

"Pennsylvania."

"Do you miss it there?   Your family?"

"Sometimes,  but I have no family."  He had a somber face.

Chase gave me a dirty look, so I decided that I would just drop it.  

Dinner finally ended, so mom and I cleaned up.  Of course the guys went to watch a ball game.

"Mom, I am gonna go to the store to get Chase's Christmas gift. "

"No way, not by yourself.  Do you know all the crazies out there tonight?  Take your brother."  Mom raised her voice worryingly.

"Mom it is a gift for Chase duh."

" I can go with her if you like. " Travis said.

"Ok,  just keep an eye on her, ok?"  Mom told him

"I am gonna go change, be down in 10."  I exclaimed happily as i dart pit of the kitchen.

I dressed in my skinny jeans and a cute top.  I checked my hair and face in the mirror  before I head back down.

"Are you ok taking the dork?  I can go with you, so you won't be bored to death.  She will talk your ear off about books."  I heard Chase tell Travis from the entryway.

"Nope, I  will be fine."

"Ok I  am ready"  I grab my purse and keys.  "I will call when we get to the store."

"Be careful honey." Dad hollered as we walked oit the door.

The drive was quiet.  He just looked through his phone. 

"So, what are you taking?"

"What?"

"In college?  I want to be an english teacher. "  I beamed.

"I am going for psychology."  He said with even tone.

"Oh.  Do you like it?  Do you want to be a psychiatrist or physiologist?"

All he did was shrug.  I guess he doesn't talk much. 

We pulled into Best Buy paking lot.  Damn was it packed and a line was already starting for those specials.  We get into line, thank god I  had camping chairs in the trunk.

We sit in line not talking.   He is really quiet and stand offish.  I don't know  why he wanted to come.  I thought he kinda liked me, because of last night in the hot tub.

Finally they opened the doors.  Travis grabbed my hand to help me up.  "Give me keys and I  will put the chairs in the car."  He said as I  handed him my keys.

My hand was tingling where he touched it.  I couldn't  help but smile

He made it back before I  got to the entrance.  Thank god I got a nimber for the Xbox  Chase wanted.   He will be surprised.  I saved up my babysitting money for the past 6 months to buy this for him. 

Travis grabbed my hand as we walk in.  People were running in every direction.  I figued he didn't  want me to get lost or trampled on.

After we checked out and got back in the car, he looked at me with these sexy looking eyes. 

"Do you want to go straight home?"  He asked with a sheepish grin.

"I don't  know.  You want to drive around?"  I ask innocently.

"Ok drive."

We drove for about 20 minutes whe he told me to pull into an abandoned park.  As I pull in, my brain is going 50 miles per hour!  What are we doing here?
