The town I've moved to the people seem friendly, everyone here seems to know everyone, but I miss home. I miss my dad, people could never understand the relationship we had. My dad and I done everything together we were best friends to me he was all I needed. He was all I had. I never needed any one els. We were inseparable, even working we done that together, the best team and always got the job done.

I walk down the street with my suitcase in tow and come across a diner called ruby's and head in. As I step inside a bell above the door jingles, I sit down at a empty table in the corner and look around, I can see a family celebrating a child's 6th birthday, an old couple talking, a young couple giggling and laughing their clearly on a date, this place seems like the hotspot around here. The waitress comes over to my table, she has ginger hair and and green eyes she's wearing black ripped jeans with a red button up short sleeved shirt with ruby's written on it in black finishing it off with some red and white converses. With a big smile she hands me the menu and asks me what I would like. I order a black coffee and steak and chips.

After finishing my food I pay the bill and leave a nice tip for the waitress and I head off to my new apartment. I came here to Texas because my dad told me he met my mother here, he doesn't talk about her much and I don't blame him after she had me she left, abandoned me and my dad and I've never saw her, not even a picture but now that dads gone I thought about this place, my dad only ever mentioned it a few times about how he met my mother here, so I thought I'd come here to start fresh.

After finding my apartment I head up the stairs with my suitcase in hand it's nothing to flashy, just one bedroom and a bathroom, kitchen and living room. It's got a cozy feel to it with all the bright colours I was hoping it would brighten up my life a bit.
